In my effort to provide a good discussion here in my neck of the woods, I decided to ask a pretty general question of you all.
What's your favorite game series?
Why did you like it so much? Who would you recommend it to? Feel free to elaborate (explain).
As for me, I'm a huge Sonic the Hedgehog fan. I have every Sonic game on Genesis except Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine (which technically isn't even a Sonic game), and countless other Sonic games and memorabila.
I also like the Final Fantasy series, though they seem to be getting lamer and lamer main characters as they go on. Zelda's a favorite too. Somehow, running around as Link never gets old...
So, what about you guys?
Toejam & Earl
Released: 1991
The first one on sega genesis was so original. I can't think of a game like it. It's challenging, fun, has great replay value with the random worlds options. Some of the best music in a sega genesis game. Awesome Bass. It's has some pretty humours parts. My favorite part was the ending when you travel to your home planet and get to explore it as sort of a reward. The two player mode only adds to the fun. Very cool game and teh best of the series.
ToeJam & Earl in Panic on Funkotron
Released: 1993
The second one, while slightly less original was still very unique and a pretty fun game. Lots of secrets, awesome graphics, great story gets you interested, tons of unique features (Gotta love the hyperfunk zone and bouncing on the pink fungus stuff).
ToeJam & Earl III: Mission to Earth
Released: 2002
The third one on xbox takes the series back to its roots in a 3d version similar to the first, and yet still very different. I'll admit I haven't played a whole lot of it yet as I don't own my own xbox (yet). But from what I have played, once again they've managed to make a very unique game with tons of fun features.
There was even a game for the genesis I had that used the Menacer (the sega light gun) where you would scroll through a level and shoot the enemies from teh TJ&E series with your tomato gun. It was pretty cool.
All of these games are a lot of fun and appropriate for all ages (Actualy the third one may not be for younger kids but theres nothing more than some sexual innuendo I think and maybe a few of the lesser swears. I don't remember,I have to play it more). I've been a fan since I was about 9 or 10 years old. (I'm just about 21 now).
What I like best about the series is that it was created by two independant game designers, Mark Voorsanger and Greg Johnson. My dream job is basicly to be an independant game designer and work with a friend or two on an original kickass game. These two are sort of idols to me :P
Well I could go on about the game for days lol, but I'll leave it at that.
For the PS2 I liked the DotHack series. Though I'm still waiting on Xenosaga Episode 2... the first (Xenosaga) was probably the best console game I've ever played :D

DotHack was pretty good, but the dungeons just got boring for me. I know it was supposed to be an MMORPG and all, but JEEZ.
Yes, I started to memorize the map layout..kind of redundant. It's all about the speed charm lol
Hey Quick, have you gotten all the items in the list from Dot Hack part 4?
I haven't >_<
GB has kept me away from my PS2 x.x

Nah, I only played a little bit of Infection and that was it.
heh, I played all four! :D The story was pretty good and the game actually became more challenging, especially in part four Quarantine.
Quoteheh, I played all four! :D The story was pretty good and the game actually became more challenging, especially in part four Quarantine.
I did watch part of .hack//SIGN and .hack//DUSK, so I know a bit about the whole story.
I hear the storyline got pretty crazy near the end, though.
Yes I watched DotHack Sign, DotHack Liminality and in addition to playing (and buying $.$) all four DotHack games. They all tie together as well as DotHack Dusk.
I'm a big Zelda fan. Have been since I was little.. It just seems, even though sometimes it becomes repetitive, that it never gets boring. One of my all-time favorites from the series which is Ocarina of Time, I've beaten almost 20 times since it was first released. As for the others, I've played every one, some became a little too much of a hassle so I would go back and forth until I beat them.
I own every game, including those that are on Gameboy/GBA. I also own the entire Zelda tv series (although it kinda sucks and doesn't go along much with any of the video games storylines).
---
Another series I really like is Fire Emblem. Which is arguably thee best RPG there is. Not the one for GBA.. Which I've only played parts of, but I'm too poor to go out and buy it right now. The ones I have I got from a weird comic shop in Detroit a few years ago, and they were all in Japanese.
I personally only have 4 of them.
Dragon of Darkness and Sword of Light (Famicom)
Gaiden (NES)
Monsho no Nazo (SNES)
Seisen no Keifu (SNES)
As far as I'm aware I'm only missing three.. I doubt I'll ever get them, though. Aside from the U.S. one that's on GBA.
---
I used to really like the Final Fantasy series. Until it seemed as if they were focusing more on the graphics, rather than the highly-detailed storylines. Graphics are good and all, but when the game drags on and becomes so easy that you could play while sleeping and still beat it... it just gets old.
Starting with FFX, and the introduction of female-esque looking guys in their games, I've lost a lot of respect for the series. FFX's storyline was amazing, yet they didn't elaborate on it. Then, knowing their mistake, they came out with another to try and do just that, but yet again lacked in quality and the originality that Final Fantasy once had.
Maybe my mind will change. Don't mean to offend anyone, just my personal opinion.
QuoteDon't mean to offend anyone, just my personal opinion.
And that's all I'm asking for in this thread.
Repinned; Try not to let the discussion die this time, all right?
hmm...i play alot of video games...and i have alot of series that i like...but favorites...
i'm gonna have to say its prolly a tie between the FF series and MG series...the first Metal Gear i played was on the SNES, and it already hooked me...i played it pretty late, and soon after, Metal Gear Solid came out, and when i got it...it was like a slice of heaven. i still think its arguably one of the best games ever made. MGS 2 had better graphics and all...but the lead character was a pansy and the plot was much thinner and lacking in many places.
Final fantasy is just a great series....i agree they have declined as they shifted focus from great story lines to better visualizations...prolly to cater to younger kids who are captivated by pretty scenes...i enjoy them all still...and own most of them...the only real one i didn't like as much was FF9.
and also Zelda series is excellent too...however...as i invested my money in my PS instead of nintendo line....i didn't get to play the zelda series as much as i''d like...
The slowly growing DMC series. The first one was so darn good I couldn't put it down. The second one I thought was ok but they really dropped the ball on bosses and their personalities plus fighting normal enemies wasn' as good.Basically there would be a big group coming after u that were extremely easy to beat.Only thing I think I liked better were the cut scenes like the one he jumps off the building...Well DMC 3 is coming out and it looks like it will do this franchise justice. :D
My current favorite game series are probably the Jak and Daxter and Ratchet and Clank games, with close runners up being the Zelda games and the Sonic games (my favorite genres are Action/Adventure and RPG). My top 2 favorite games though (not series) are Super Mario RPG for SNES and the Legend of Mana for PS1. Those two have to be the best RPG's ever made, at least that I've seen (although I still haven't been able to get a hold of Chrono Trigger).
Noelani, you said you own every Zelda game? Even the ones for the CD-i? If you do, that's amazing (both because I don't know anyone who's ever owned those, and because they're supposed to be amazingly horrible).
Orochi I ABSOLUTELY love legend of mana for ps1.Great for if u have a friend over.Even by itself growing food, making weapons and armor, raising monsters, exploring around and finding all those mini quests and stuff is just plain fun.I think its a great game with lots to do.Btw whats your favorite weapon to use?
For me, its all about the Civilization series for the PC. It started when I was only a little kid visiting my sisters house and I saw my brother-in-law playing Civ 2. It just looked to complicated and time consuming.....I had to have it  It was the 2nd computer game I ever bought. To me its just the best strategy game out there. And its just so fun to nuke the rest of the world to win ^_^
Paper. Mario. :D
Paper Mario was really fun to play, the 2nd one looks just as cute.
My favourite game series would have to be Zelda > FF because FF9 is the sux. But I still like all the FF other than 9. Suikoden, Mega Man, Contra, and I'm sure I'm missing a lot that are among my favs...
Tekken. IMO, by far the best series ever :P. now whats better than kicking the crap out of your opponent with a lightning swirl uppercut? nothing.
The Final Fantasy series is by far my favorite series. Although I don't entirely like the road they have taken for Final Fantasy X-2, Final Fantasy has for the longest time been my god, that voice that stands above everything else...
My passion for it was sparked slightly when I was too young to be able to remember, I would play Final Fantasy II (or IV), and I love it... However since I was in my wee years I had difficulty, I understood the fundamentals of an rpg, but it was a bit difficult at first... when snes was packed up and cleared away, so was my manhood (jk jk)
Final Fantasy VII is what really shines in my mind. It is one of the most beautiful rpgs ever, no one can deny its divine grace, seriously, it is so... moving
When I was about 11 or 12 I would constantly come over to my friends house so we could play! It felt so great playing, but he still didn't get *too* far... we never reacehd the 2nd disk
When I parted from my friend and moved to another town, FF7 was still stuck on my mind.... I bought my PS1, simply to be able to play Final Fantasy 7, and from there... I finally beat the game (over 7 times as of now ^^)
Final Fantasy 7 is the gateway drug of Final Fantasy, it is the greatest rpg I have EVER played, and it moves you on to the other Final Fantasy games...
I moved to Final Fantasy VIII, and things got a bit tricky. Unlike Final Fantasy 7, 8 had taken a big step into being a futuristic rpg. Its biggest concentration was the relationships in the story... many players may have veered away from this "less game play more romance" idea, but I honestly loved it with a passion. If you read my profile, you would see I enjoy romance with a passion, just my little quirk...
After playing Final Fantasy 8, I went further to Final Fantasy 9. This game too concentraited on a romance genre (yay!)... What most surprised me, however, was that they took a step back into a fantasy world, and didnt continue the futuristic world like FF8
I took a step back here, and learned of the greatness of Final Fantasy Tactics, yes truely an amazing game, it is very different from the other Final Fantasy games. for one thing, you are not allowed to walk around, or you are in 2 senses, you choose your destination, and like super mario going to a different level you can move like so, or you can move in battle. Final Fantasy Tactics has the most unique battle system I have ever played. You dont just stand somewhere and keep jabbing on different spells and such, your character moves around inthe battle field, need be defenseive, need to surround a run away foe, it is all a unique type of strategy
I also used the emulater zsnes, and played the roms of Final Fantasy 4 and 6 (or 2 and 3). These two games I beat with relative ease, but both were very much worth my time. Final Fantasy 6 has the greatest song, "Terra's Theme," a spectacular paino piece that brings a sense of melancholy (at least to me).
I also played and loved Terrangima, I know its not Final Fantasy, but its by Enix, and it is quite enjoyable.
Both snes games were amazing, and I realized were ahead of its time when it came out.
Then... I went to Final Fantasy X.... sigh Soft Enix took a nose dive... the voice acting was so.. utterly utterly rediculous.... I felt like vomitting, but I persevered, and I finally beat it...
It did have some good points, but it was nothing compared to FF 7-9. It was a so-so rpg, the story line seemed so linear (No walkable world...), it didnt seem so great...
Final Fantasy VI I have no comments on, I have not been able to play it... yet ;)
and finally Final Fantasy X-2... 2 words pop into my head, sex appeal -_- FFXII was SO SO bloody linear, why it was like doing missions, it seemed to get boring, didn't seem open ended enough for me... but then again I stopped playing half way because I found out I missed something I count get later on (im a perfectionist with rpgs...)
Well thats my answer, my favorite game series is, as you can tell, Final Fantasy
2 Words, Metal. Gear.
Possibly the best game ever to exist.
Metal Gear for the NES would be the first game ever to elaborate on being sneaking in video games. It was the first game to ever have a crazy storyline that screwed with your mind.
Metal Gear Solid for the PS is by far my #1 Rated Game (Over Chrono Trigger)
It so many ways to stay stealthy. So many items that give the game a replay factor of 5 our of 5. There are 2 different endings on how you act in Ocolots Torture. THe story line is ammazing. Not only does it lie to you, but it becomes more complex as it goes on. It is all dealt with in the end.
Metal Gear Solid2 for the PS2
... Great engine, crap story. La-lay-le-li-lo WTF is that crappy name. Its better than the matrix storyline though.
Metal Gear Solid3 for the PS2
OMFG I CAN'T WAIT.
Dynasty Warriors
Nothing funner than whippin the crud out of soldiers in Ancient China
POKEMON!!!!
POKEMON RED>>>finished game 20 times?
POKEMON BLUE>>>finished game 20 times?
POKEMON GREEN (but neva played it coz its in jap)
POKEMON BLACK>>>i heard?? dunno if it existed
POKEMON YELLOW >>>finished game 20 times?
POKEMON GOLD >>>played half of it
POKEMON SILVER >>>played half of it
POKEMON RUBY >>>> nega played it
POKEMON SAPPHIRE..... >>>> neva played it
heheh only played red and blue on computa and yellow on gameboy...dat was 5 yrs ago?? ohh good days :)
I played Pokemon Green. Yes, it's in jap. Oh well, the words are basically the same as Red and Blue. I dont know y they dont make english Pokemon Green.
speaking of pokemon, there are 2 new games coming out this year (unless its postponed...), they are exactly the same as red and blue, but with gameboy advanced graphics, extra scenes and events, a wireless battle mode (ppl within a certain mile radius can play against you wirelessly...), and last but not least, over 300 pokemon you can catch
The Sonic the Hedgehog series has and always will be tops in my book. It's basically the most stable and fun formula for a platformer you can get: Fast action, cool characters, diverse stages. I've loved all of the Sonic games (well, the ones by Sonic Team, though 3D Blast and Sonic R were okay...), and I hope they just get better. I'd say the best thing Sonic could do with the series right now though is make a 3D version that's as true to the originals as 3D can get. Sonic Heroes almost did it, but the team elements were rather confusing and sometimes slowed down the action.
I agree, sonic 1-3 on teh sega genesis were some of the best games ever made. And sonic and knuckles with teh lock on technology, what a great idea. I can't believe it didn't catch on. I still have and play them (along with lots of other great genesis games).
oh and uhh.. pokemon would be good if it had just stayed with red and blue. Original idea, trading was unique but then they sold out and made the same crap over and over again.
Without a doubt-a-rino, Donkey Kong Country series. The thing that lit up my childhood like a flashlight with duracell batteries. Good times. :D
Donkey Kong Country 2 was the best of the series, also my all-time favourite video game.
Kitsune and Commie - +10 Respect. More Sonic fans, yay.
Mike - Doubt-a-rino? You sound like Ned Flanders.
Oh, I can't believe i forgot Megaman(And I can't believe no one has mentioned it). I am purchasing a Gamecube for the new megaman game.
The love of my life: Midtown Madness 1, 2 and 3. You've probably never heard of it.
I'm a big fan of Toejam & Earl, though I haven't played the third one.
I do not have much affiliation with series, but forced to choose as I now find myself, I'll go with Zelda as it is the only game series of which I own almost all of.
Armored Core for the Playstation 2
One of the most fun and addictive series ever! Basically you start out as a mercinary called a "Raven," and you pilot a giant mech. The mechs(called Armored Cores, or AC's) are completely customizable. Everything on them. EVERYTHING. Hundreds of parts, thousands of combinations. The replay value of this game is simply unlimited. You play through missions getting rewarded with credits which you use to buy new parts for your AC so you can take on tougher missions, what little storyline the game has comes out as you progress(and through e-mails you get). The newer installments of the series have all kinds of different multiplayer options such as 1v1, 2v2, co-op missions, 1v1v1v1, etc. The graphics are simply beutiful, gameplay is smooth and flows together in fastplay battles. Fighting other AC's during missions or during your climb of the Arena(where you battle for ranking and prizes against other Ravens) is exciting and there is never a dull moment. Weapons can be mounted on your AC's 2 shoulders, arms, or internal areas and can range from flame throwers, to various machineguns, bazookas, missles, plasma cannons, and energy blades. The online communitie is always looking for new combinations and new techniques so competition is fierce when they can organize tournaments. I would reconmend this series to anyone who has time to kill.
Anything of Mario I like, I even loved to death Mario Sunshine(yes I; m a very big mario fan, and I own every single mariokart game.)
FF series sucks, they overexploited the license way too much, and it's always the same anyway.
Zeldas are so-so, and I don't like metroid much. SO FOR THE RANKINGS TOP 10 :
1st - Mario(will always be)
2nd - Advance Wars(RULZ)
3rd - Aliens vs Predator(I'm a big fan of aliens)
4th - Plok(it's not a series but it's damn fun)
5th - Pokemon(no I'm not a pikachu fanatic, I hate that little scrub and I only play pokemon coz it's a damn good RPG)
6th - Zelda(yep, that low)
7th - Bomberman(bonerman LOL)
8th - Serious Sam(20$ is a steal of a deal)
9th - Freespace
10th - Warcraft
...
...
...
500th - Final Fantasy(Way too exploited and not original anymore)
No one even considered Resident Evil!?!?!?! Shame.
I have practically most of them. Code veronica, 2, 3:Nemesis , and others.
Nothing better than getting a good scare and blowin up brains with my trusty shotgun.
The Silent Hill series is good, too. One thing's for sure it's probably the scariest game ever to be made.
Oh right, I like the DDR series too. Obviously enough.
Hm...Well, I've been playing a lot more games and thinking a lot more, so here's my list of all-time favorite game series, but only series, though there are many one-shot games that were definitely worth mentioning (DISGAEA!!!).
1.Street Fighter II (and above). This series literally established the grounds when it came to making a good fighting game. It had everything: Special Moves, diverse characters, catchy background tunes, and (sadly) tiers (I don't know much of them, but Guile is absolute top in SFII).
2.Virtua Fighter. This particular series I wasn't too fond of at first, but when I look back, this is how 3D fighting games should be made. 3D fighting games have a nack for giving the characters HUGE movelists, and the games generally have more depth to them. This right here is as deep as they come, or at least VF4: Evolution happens to be the most complex fighting game I've ever seen.
3.Final Fantasy. While many people may debate this, I happen to believe this is yet another amazing, groundbreaking game, but in the RPG genre this time. As opposed to Dragon Quest (Which I love, don't get me wrong, but I'd definitely say more about it if I'd played them all), it had amazing graphics (for its time), it had a faster battle system, diverse classes; and of course, moogles. Yes, so the game has generally lost its originality, but I don't think they've been trying to be original for quite some time now. The long-time FF fans love the feel of the originals and the charm. Square kept to their formula and pleased the fans for 11 games, plus unusual excursions such as Final Fantasy Tactics and Final Fantasy X-2.
4.Sonic the Hedgehog. Why not Mario? Once again, don't get me wrong, since Mario is great, but Sonic has for more going for him. Sonic was designed to compete with Mario by being faster and with more 'attitude', and he pulls it off seamlessly. The original games and even the newer ones are some of the fastest, craziest platformers in existence. Oh yeah, and trust me, there are far more Sonic clones then there are of Mario.
5.Tetris. Like puzzle games? You can't not love Tetris. It's a simple, charming puzzle game that has you arrange different shaped blocks into straight lines. It's easy to play and addictive enough to make you think the cartridge is made of nicotine. Fun Fact: Alexi Patinov, the maker of Tetris, didn't collect profits originally when the game first debuted on the PC, all profit was donated to the Russian space program.
6.Mega Man. He's small, he's blue, he's no fox (ha ha, personal reference) but he DOES have a big gun and the ability to steal his enemy's powers. Mega Man ranks as one of my favorites because of, once again, the simple and fail-proof formula the games go by: Go through diverse stages, blow up funny-looking robots, kill the boss and get his power. Go to the next stage and kill the boss whose weakness is the power you just received. Though the games have been kinda breaking away from the formula, they're still close enough to their originals to always make you feel like you're sitting at home with your NES again...
7. Half-Life. This is the one game I make an exception for the "series only" rule. It's just too good to be left out, simple as that. The engine itself is based partially off of the legendary Quake engine, but beats it by far. This is another one of those games that really set the standard for your..uh..standard FPS. The single-player experience alone is worth buying the game for. With the introduction of scripted events in-game, you never once have to stop for cutscenes, you play in them. Once we finish single-player, it's time for some multi-player deathmatching. Generally, the stand-alone HL Deathmatch is nothing different than playing Quake or Unreal, but then you have the amazingly talented community producing mods like Counter-Strike and Team Fortress Classic that truly change the feel of the game, not to mention popularize Half-Life enough to keep VALVe, the developers, supporting their game for over six years with updates and new content.
QuoteOh right, I like the DDR series too. Obviously enough.
That should be the "No-Duh" thing for you, me, and SLdK here :P
FF 3-8 and 11...and kingdom hearts...And tactics not so much advance i disliked the magic system.
Suikoden 1,2 havent played 3 yet
Star Ocean 1,2
Sonic for the Sega
Buster bros( I believe thats what its called the game where you shoot a bunch of balloons).
Chrono Trigger and Cross
GTA-most of them
Mutant league hockey(nothings better then seeing an opponent get 2minutes for crying)
River city ransom
Marvel Vs Capcom 2(arcade only)
Silent Scope 1,2
I would recommend all those games to anyone.
gunbound, darkcloud and zelda
I'm definitely huge on the Zelda series. I just love running around as Link.
With the FInal Fantasy series, I love the older games, FF7 is great (but far from the best), FF8 is interesting...but the later games lack anything to separate the gameplay from the older versions. The older ones had innovation, IMO, while the later ones have very little. Also, on FFX-2, any game that uses the word 'poopie' scares me. A lot.
The Chrono games (Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross)
I also love the Metroid series (Come faster, MP2! Faster!)
That's pretty much it, and just my opinion.
GTA: Series not the Englaish 1nes but the Am. 1ns
Star Wars like Rebel Strike + stuff
Madden
WWE
Zelda OWNS! The main reason I bought GC. For a trailer for the new one comming out next year: http://www.gametrailers.com/gt_vault/t_leg...ww2_e3_2k4.html (http://www.gametrailers.com/gt_vault/t_legendofzelda_ww2_e3_2k4.html)
I'm so excited
GTA series, starting with the third installment.
Smackdown!
Old school Mario series [ up to SM64 ]
FF, from 7-10, and tactics
DDR
I'm probably leaving out 10 more...
QuoteThe love of my life: Midtown Madness 1, 2 and 3. You've probably never heard of it.
I have, I play it, I LOVE IT!
I got almost every Final Fantasy series on the Playstation, only FF8 is out from my grasp.
Chrono Cross...Gotta love this game. I Just cant find Chrono Trigger!
Megaman X 4,5,6 and the latest Megaman Zero series.
Soul Calibur 1 and 2. (Obviously, from my avatar)
Suikoden 1 and 2.
I'll post more when they start flowing in my mind...
Final Fantasy (obvious)
Tom Clancy games (Ghost Recon, Raven Shield, etc.)
Mario (all)
Sims (all)
and any fps games.
FF 7 and FF tactics ( incomplete though )... the rest of the series was not too good..
Suikoden 2 was nice, replayed a few times to get all characters, save Nanami, unlock the last skill for the main char. rune. However, cant find Suikoden 1 to upload the data so missing out on some Mcdohl stuff.
Enjoyed the game Vanguard Bandit fairly well too, got all 5 diff endings :D
QuoteQuoteOh right, I like the DDR series too. Obviously enough.
That should be the "No-Duh" thing for you, me, and SLdK here :P
Uhhh, me too. Ive been playing for 2 years :D
My favourite series are:
Heroes of Might & Magic:wub: (Yeah, I love even the fourth part! But then again, third with WoG expansion rox as hell :D:)
Fallout (Except that the last part, Tactics, was kinda... I don't know... less addictive... :-_-:)
Virtua Fighter (The best fighting game in my opinion :D:)
Diablo (And that's without even plaing multiplayer much!)
Many more titles come to mind but I will stop here. The games above are truly my favourite ones and those are series in which I appreciated every part (well, sadly, with the exception of VF4 <- no hardware for that :(:)
I like most of the Nintendo franchises (Mario, Zelda, Metriod).
Heroes of Might and Magic, in a dorky way. I don't think I would've played it as much as I did if my friends weren't.
The Civilization series. It's fun to re-write history. Thanks Sid!
Mega Man and Mega Man X
I liked FF1-6, but it went downhill from there. That or I got older.
QuoteQuoteQuoteOh right, I like the DDR series too. Obviously enough.
That should be the "No-Duh" thing for you, me, and SLdK here :P
Uhhh, me too. Ive been playing for 2 years :D
Replace all instances of DDR with
"ALL BEMANI RELATED GAMES EXCEPT PARA PARA PARADISE"
kthx :D
I enjoyed:
Pokemon
Metal Gear
and some of the FFs
I favour 3 by now: Counter Strike, Warcraft, Gunbound.
Final Fantasy ROCKS!! XD
I beat 9 and 10, i have 7 and 8 still to beat.
I beat Final Fantasy's 1-9 and played a little bit of 10 in my friends house.
I beat Warcraft too but it was hard and who can forget Starcraft =]
Pokemon Red, Blue, Yellow, Sapphire, Ruby, and the two new Green and Red one's are awesome...
QuotePokemon Red, Blue, Yellow, Sapphire, Ruby, and the two new Green and Red one's are awesome...
LOl POkemon. Ah the good old days. ;):
im glad one person said Resident Evil...i liked them all...but Resident Evil 4 blows them all away by far...you MUST play RE4...even if you hated the other Resident Evils, RE4 improves everything...controls, aimming, ect ect...shoot a guy in the leg, and he slowy limps toward you...much more real and 10x better...it also has some of the coolest, most orginal bosses in video game history...also, the graphics are mind blowing
GTA(The PS2 series... dunno about the PS1 series)
Ratchet and Clank(You know the RYNO is too sexy.)
Kingdom Hearts(Killing is fun!)
Soul Caliber 2(I suck at it but I still play it =/)
Super Smash Brothers Melee(Ness=Skillz)
Zelda(Ocarina of Time rocked and WindWaker pwned too... although Link looked gay :-X )
The Jak and Daxter series(Ratchet's still better. 36 weapons>Maybe 4 or 5)
Final fantasy 10(I like Auron. Only reason I played was to kick ass with Auron.)
Oh and Gunbound.
I'm all about Zelda! Cant wait for the newest addition! The legend of Zelda, Link to the past was voted the best game of all time you know! ocarina of time is very similar to it of course, just no link bunnies!
I also for some reason, really like pokemon. Still. i mean i have both the n64 versions of pokemon stadium, and blue version on gameboy, and with the Infamous rare candy trick, i have all the TM'sx1000, i own all pokemon 100+ even un evolved, and its just really amusing to me still. I only the like the older versions though. I had pokemon silver but i didnt enjoy it as much. I guess its because i didnt have the infinate items trick!! oh well.
Now...i was aware that Rare was recently sold to playstation, so i was a bit dissapoointed in that. I enjoyed Banjo Kazooie thouroghly! Just a real original game. And why do MArio Kart and DiddyKong Racing never fail to amuse me? The 64 was an instant classic in my opinoin. I own a ps2 that i never use, cause i have all the nintendo consoles to play with! And i only have soul calibur 2 for ps2 anyways. I really like the final fantasy artwork and story lines, even though i never played it i know some about it. Kingdom hearts looked like a really neat game, but a lot of my friends said the ending boss battle was a bit dissapointing! i should probably still rent it or something. Crap i need a job to waste my money on video games.
My love : Deus Ex 1 and 2. I think everyone heard of them ^^

Omg you actually play Toetam and Earl.
I love that game
