Well, post here to brag about what youve done, whether youve jewel suicided for events(not saying who, but it IS legal and I dont care about it going on), or just talk about the discussion.

Heres my opinion.

I think its a very fairly balanced event. Now that theyre adding in REAL prizes like iPods and Digital Cameras(and robosapiens, but theyre cheap kid toys) Softnyx seems to have a bit of money in their pockets (http://www.pockethouse.com). The games are random and it gives everyone a chance to win, as long as they gain access to the rooms. At least its not a room entry lag massacre that was the halloween event.
This is exactly like the bear event last year, except with a raffle and a few real prizes. The only downside of this in my mind is botters. They play on average, 500 games in one day for a botter who gains around 200 GP daily. Factor in that 3/5 games has an event. If they win every game, thats 300 tickets for the botter. Fuckin insane.

Just because you enter for an iPod doesnt mean you get one. Its a raffle, You need 15 tokens(about an hour of 1v1ing nonstop) to get enough for a raffleticket. REMEMBER YOUR SERIAL CODE ON THE RAFFLE FOR THE PRIZE DRAWING ON THE 24TH! and dont forget to update your address and birthday in case you actually win an ipod or digital camera.

Background set(2,000,000 users get it, and about 200,000 users are participating.. Gee i wonder if I'll get one): 1 ticket - 1 points

Doesn't mean that they will win, but yeah they have a much higher chance of winning. I still find it insane that there are 9k tickets for the clown suit, in 6 hours @.@

they don't get free iponds necessarily, just a very high chance >_<. And cheaters are always evident, let's just hope softnyx does a better time of catching them for once...this is one of the best events in a LONG TIME, so don't complain :^_^:

Background set is the one that everyone can get it as long as they have a ticket (I think). But can we choose the prize of the background or expression?

I'm a bit frustrated with this christmas event.  I bought the snowman avatar crap with the preordered 2000cash for tooya and myself.  I recieved the 20000cash that is standard with it but didnt recieve the avatar set or the 2000cash preordered.  Tooya on the other hand recieved the 20000cash and the snowman avatar set.  What do you think happened with mine?  Gb is pissing me off now a days... christ, spent over 200 bucks on this game... and then crap like this happens to me.  Earlier today... i bought 20000cash and thought that that would lead to me getting the avatar set... but then i find out that you're supposed to get it off of the damn frigging direct link from the christmas event page.  This is all PISSING ME OFF.  I aint investing anymore cash for gunbound if i'm not getting thie shit that i ask for.  God damnit, i love Gunbound just as much as all of you do... which is why i'm spending a shit load of money, that i could have bought a christmas present for my girlfriend with, and took it and spent it on the game that i love playing.  What the fuck is up with this?  Its ticking me off.

You don't need to remember your raffle numbers.  They are listed for you now.  Not sure if they were before.

Overall I think it is a good idea for an event, other than the usual "delete the damn botters already" thing.  I do think they could have added a greater variety of prizes though.  I'm not talking about the tangible things such as the Digital Camera, but more avatar prizes, or even gunbound cash as prizes.  

In the future, they could do this type of feature only for power users, and there is a fortnightly or monthly draw for prizes.

Also I find this statement on their website amusing:

That has been happening alot, try emailing through the FAQ and ask them about it, although it should work.

Is it just me, or has the event occurences decreased dramatically? I went through a period of about 15 games with only one event game, opposed to yesterday with like one every other game, sometimes long chains of 3 to 5.

thats been happening to me too.  I then tried it on my other account and the occurence rate went up.  Could it be that if you already have the "right" ticket number, that the occurences will lower itself?  Probably not right?

What the fuck is with the event backgrounds? Theyre almost as blinding as the world cup backgrounds... wel maybe not, But the nak in the center is creepy.

I have found it a bit hard to see the arrow on the wind indicator with this BG. I turned it off though. Problem solved. (I like to play bg on. It helps me to judge distances and such)

I had been playing bg off until this afternoon, when i turned it on and i was shocked. everyone was all "What, you havent been in an event yet?"

As far as I am concerned all penalties are not harsh enough for the botters.  The only penalty that is fitting is to delete them, or reset their account to 0gp (although this would still leave them with their cheated gold and avatar items).  I know of one player that has 3 accounts in the top 100 (one is a dragon), and he uses the same dummy bot account for all his accounts.  This dummy account has -185020gp.  Don't believe me?  Look up the name sunshinegrl.

Now remeber for each -1gp this dummy account has, that means +3gp for his other accounts.  This means that pretty much 99% of this guys gp is done through botting.  And he isn't the only one.  Delete their account, or reduce their gp to 0, thats the only fitting penalty.  Besides, in the so called GIS rules, it states that players are supposed to be penalised 120% of ther cheated gp.  Yeah right.

Oh hell, I just lost 2 raffle tickets. I'd start my story-telling session now.

Aight, I got bored of playing, so I thought I'd buy some raffle tickets first. I went to the event page logged in and saw that I have 35 points. Aight, what the heck, I bought 5 "Phoenix & Gold" raffle tickets, I actually copied down all the raffle ticket's "numbers" to notepad.

But when I bought the 5th ticket, something wierd happended. The ticket "number" kept on changing and changing. I waited until it stopped and once again copied down the "numbers". Now I'm left with 5 wish points. I thought I'd recheck, and HUH? There's only 4 tickets listed! I mailed an query to the customer service, hoping they would look in to it :rolleyes:

Now, screw that. I went to buy more raffle tickets. 5 wish points left, bleh, I'd buy 5 tickets of the background set. Who knows, the same thing happended! At the 5th ticket, the ticket "number" kept on changing again. This time, I thought, rather than waiting it to stop, I'd click "OK" first. After that, I checked again, whalla! 4 tickets rather than 5 AGAIN.

I guess I'm having a really bad day :<_<: I could win someone few rounds straight, but once it's an event game, I lose :-_-:

Some of you might think I shouldn't whine over just 2 damn tickets, but.. Bleh, I'm bored :<_<: And I don't want it to happen again if I buy another 5 tickets :-_-:

Nah, nothing like that happened to me but  like Sol, somehow I ended up getting more tickets than what I bought.. o.O weird.. or maybe I just miscalculated..

Anyways, I think my chances of getting a clown or teddy avatar is really slim, there are over 70000+ people signed up for it.  I currently have 48 on clown.  I decided I'll put around 100 or 200 in for each and stop.  

After my finals today, I"m just going to spend my time playing gb.. damn college sucks!

Yes I'm sure all 70000+ of those tickets are individual people.  It must have occured to you that most people who want the jester will have lots of tickets in it, with probably no more than 10,000 people actually trying to get it.  That along with the fact that you have more tickets in it than most others should almost guarantee you a suit.

There is a glith or something with the tickets and sometimes it gives you more, lots more.  Ive heard someone gaining nearly 100+ tickets than they bid.

Besides background, even if you have a BILLION tickets in each of the other gift you might still win nothing.

The accuracy of both that chart and a chart I created in another thread relies on one thing - Whether or not we can win more than once. If we can win more than once then the odds are according to the amount of tickets. Whereas, if the event allows only one win per person, then once a player wins, it voids all the other tickets within that category.  Which brings up a very good point....

If the prizes are calculated immediately -- as in,
10 prizes for 100 people and 10 people get prizes as opposed to....

If the prizes are calculated one by one - as in,

10 prizes for 100 people, the first prize goes to one guy, but that one guyhas 10 tickets so once he wins all the rest his tickets are void, thus the rest of the tickets are out of running which would leave the prize calculation at....

There is almost no chance you can win more than one copy of an item.  Dupicate items pose no use to anyone seeing as they cannot be gifted.  Were softynx to allow that, they would have made a colossal error.

As soon as more than 6000 ppl buy a raffle for Clown/bear, there will never be a 100% chance of winning.  By the looks of it, there are a lot more than just 6000 ppl trying for clown, so I don't think there is going to be a number of raffle tickets that will guarentee a win.

There are 41000 (rounded up) say that everyone has atleast 20 tickets in it. so 41000/20 = 2050 people. again there prolly aren't even 6000 people going for it. Not to mention the different amounts of tickets that people have. so yeah, there is still a high chance for people to get that. weee

I'm done with thsi event, I've spent enough time, I got 70 tickets on for clown, 4 for background adn on my other accout, 20 for teddy suit.  I'm done.

It seems that all the gunbounds have the same amount of prizes.  For the hell of it, I transfered an account to the Latino version a few months ago.  The chances of winning prizes there are much greater because there are far less entrants, and yet they still have the same amount of prizes on offer (ie 2 ipods, 3 mp3 players, 300 pheonix's etc).  Check out the comparisons to GIS entries:

Perhaps there should have been a greater amount of items in more busy gunbound versions at least in the non tangible items.  I bet there are some versions of gunbound that would have even greater odds for winning stuff than this.

I also highly doubt they will.  GIS never keeps their word.  They always talk so much crap about punishing abusers etc, and they do bugger all.  They would have to be the most amateur company on the net.

I think given the circumstances we're better off playing and winning points without worrying about the outcome... Trying to predict who'll win is pretty useless... Each ticket you buy has a 1 in 100,000+ chance of winning... Meh. Wait for the results, then bang your head on the wall for wasting your time :)

what takes me to say softnyx screwed the event that had everything to be the best of the year. They have the awesome skill to ruin every single good idea with foolish mistakes. If it's not corrected, then great, another evennt for the big list of "events ruined by softnyx".
