normally I don't buy it when someone says bots are 'all equal just different' but this time I sorta agree. It's hard to pick. Knight might be a bit more flexible, great movement+angle and long range accuracy, but dragon's hovering makes it basically immune to some attacks and generally take less damage, plus it has sick climb and doesn't have some of the weaknesses you get when using sate-style tracer shots, i.e. dragon won't be screwed if you hide behind a faraway hill, and can dig directly through bits of obstructing dirt. The damage difference exists but it almost doesn't matter, either way you're talking about two turns to kill an enemy, it doesn't much make a difference if you overkill by 700 instead of 650.

it also depends weather its avatar on or off. in off i think they are about the same but in avatar on dragon is much better. the reasons? 1) the most common moblies in avatar on are lightning and nak, and lightning cannot do any dmg ( except 76 splash dmg) to dragon coz dragon is floating.naks shot 2 is also quite useless to dragon. 2) against someone with 50 defence knight will do about 200 dmg(shot 2) even with 50 attack...and for the delay it sucks. 3) dragon can do 250 dmg (shot 2)with 0 attack against 50 defence.
if u dun trust me try to get lucky in avatar on and then try put how good dragon/knight is then.

I voted Knight because I like it more, but now that I think about it, Dragon is actually better. Oops.

(Flys, Nearly immune to many shots, Better Damage--I think)

i'll take knight (K-N-I-G-H-T) over dragon any day.  dragon has a lot of 'perks', no question, but also has some serious difficulties.  when i play random i actually prefer NOT to get the dragon because it's not something i can work with on any consistent basis.  OTOH when i get any other bot from random i can choose to concentrate on it at any time in later games.  anyway, here's some problems i have with dragon:

- a native angle rangle which makes it quite difficult to get a simple SG angle, which would otherwise solve some 'spread' problems
- being maddeningly difficult to make more than one or two fireballs hit at mid to long-range
- light shots which (for me anyway) are hard to get a feel for since i don't get to practice it much
- a SS which all-to-often needs a specific (uncluttered) layout in order to get all the baby dragons to hit
- if you know bigfoot well you still don't necessarily know dragon well
- high delay

on the other hand why i prefer knight:

- if you know sate then you are a rock with knight since they operate so similarly
- being able to fire from almost any bodily position
- the high delay is offset by the fact that your damage can be so consistent

btw, i will grant that besides the immunity from hovering, dragon has a deceptively difficult hitbox to attack, prolly because people are not used to having to hit it at that level.  i've seen so many boomer duals go right thru the dragon's torso...

bigfoot.

depends on the map/location placement

farrange = knight, closerange = dragon

HOWEVER, adiumroot, nirvana (both)  = knight at close range (against bots like bigfoot and raon... bungers)
