Title: scrabble
Post by: uberbacon on May 03, 2005, 06:05 PM
anyone who plays scrabble on a more elite level?
I would like to meet someone if you tell me a site :)

I was good ranked at www.ordspel.se (for elites) and on my way to the swedish championship last year, but I stopped two weeks before it. if I hadn't quit, I would never have tried gunbound ;)
I played a bit of English scrabble too, but there weren't many challengers so they removed the English boards at ordspel.se

btw, I was super-obsessed!

I actually like the Scrabble variants my friends and I play more than the game itself.  "Speed Scrabble" and "Pirate Scrabble" are what we call them.  Don't know if they're well known games or if they're just the inventions of my friends.

If I had a larger vocabulary, I'd be better at Scrabble.  Unfortunately, I don't. :X

I'd gladly try english scrabble.
I'm pretty good at the polish version, so why not. A good way to broaden your vocabulary :D:

too bad, the vocabulary is getting filled by words you have no idea what they mean :)

Well, you can still use them and hope the interlocutor also doesn't know the word

I used to play Scrabble a bit, though I'm not very skilled player. I remember the words which I have seen for the first (and last) time in my entire life like onomatopoeic stuff like "iii" or "ii" - utter nonsense.

Why are things like "nu" or "wu" are accepted into Scrabble. Utter garbage if you ask me.

the swedish official dictionary is better. we can't even use other forms of words, like.. if we used the Swedish rules we could use Jump but not Jumps, Jumped or Jumping :)

My yahoo scrabble account is like 29 wins 1 loss. I've missed playing it. If you don't mind that yahoo's board is a little bit different from a traditional scrabble board (just different placement of bonuses, but everything else is the same)... then I think you'd enjoy it.

Yahoo Literati is similar to scrabble, i believe.  I do play it once in a while.
