i saw a video on creeods i think of a low angle (40 something) .1-.3 power shot ss through a nado, and it actually hit.
today i found myself in a similar situation. im about __ << this far from the nado, i use angle 56 .3 power, the ss opens in nado, and each ball individually drops in a skybomb like pattern (1 ball would fall, and 2 seconds later another ball would fall etc untill all fell)
the ss, would have been the leetest shot ive ever done in gb (it was just cool how all the balls came out stacked like skybomb ^^ ), but it landed about _ << this far short.
so my question is... when near a nado, and your target is just on te other side of the nado, how the hell do u ss? lol... cuz there has to be some way to make this shot 100% of the time
Wow thats crazy...I dont know the answer though
I can't figure out how to do ss with nado's. I just use my instincts and hope it'll hit lol
You have to be RIGHT NEXT TO IT.
Like, your shooting zone has to be about .00001 cm from the nado, and the guy you are shooting at's body has to be 1/3 in the nado and 2/3 out.

but whats the angle/power used?
ya now that i think about it my ss would have hit if i was half a centimeter closer to nado.
Well, I've done it myself, you can ask a few people here. But creedo is probably much more practiced than I am. I can tell you, however:
You should probably use an angle above 40, but nothing above 60 USUALLY. As for power, you always want to use at least 0.15 bars or so because the SS will backfire a lot; meaning it will go through the tornado twice because you used too little power, and go back into the direction in which you shot it from (in which case it would land on you or behind you instead of the intended area). And, as usual, the higher the angle, the more power you use, but like any slugshot or forkshot, usually nothing above a bar. The most I have ever had to use is about 0.4 bars.
For your position in the tornado, I've had a higher chance of hitting if you can get a higher angle and your barrel should be INSIDE the tornado. If it is inside the tornado, I think it is more "stable", meaning that it won't as likely backfire as if you shot it from farther away from the tornado. I do know that your position for the tornado (how far you are and what angle you can get) is a very important factor for hitting.
I'll be putting some more stuff in my update for my Turtle guide.. delayed since my other computer is broken. :(:

I backfired it onto myself before, doing 500 damage to myself! It was rad. B):
depends on the wind also, cuz if its like 22 wind against u, u can sorta sg though a nado and it will coem bak in a skybomb, if done corrrectly,
That would be sweet if it happened =D
Must. play. tons. of .turtle. SS. the. nado.
@.@
:Zombie Mode:
Turtle is so much fun to play =D

Oh yes, I forgot about wind. You usually want to do this in a LOW wind (below 10) and the wind is going against you. If you have tailwind (helping wind) then it will be slightly harder to hit since the tornado is a natural shot accelerator, and if you have wind also accelerating your shot, power used will be slightly different. It is possible to do a high headwind SS by shotgunning the SS through the tornado, but that is also difficult since you need to calculate how far the tornado will propel your shot as well as how the strong wind will affect your shot, so full power will not necessarily work, but rather a non-full power that is corresponding to your distance from the tornado, how strong the wind is, and what angle your shoot at.
Yeah... It's fun to try to launch a nice skybomb SS through a nado. Either its a OMFG PRO or a OMFG NOOB GO HOME response.
Turtle is ineed fun, before I started playing Trico I played only turtle for about a month. I got pretty good, had the timebomb down nice but then I switched =P

Bullshit. Just yesterday I ss'd the nado from at least 1/2 screen away, and had them all line up. Missed by no more than a bots length.
I meant for the ones RIGHT next to the nado... Of course you can do it over a screen! I thought that this was solely for people right next to each other.
Jeeez.

We never said that it was impossible unless you are right next to the tornado; we just said (and I made it clear) that it is easier if you have a slight headwind and if you are right next to the tornado (preferably slightly inside the tornado).

No, I was at one end of the screen, nado center, enemy on the other side. I believe sol was there.

omg, mee too lol, except i've done it about 21038094 times lol.

Dude..
we are not doubting you in any way. All I am saying is that I and others find it easier to do tornado SS when you are closer to the tornado. Don't you understand? You don't need Sol to come in here and verify because we don't deny that you did it in the first place.
Yeah man... I thought we were talking about getting the SS to come out of the nado 1 by 1 and that normally happens if you are right next to it.
I have only been able to get ~2 sses to hit like that...
you basically get the thing to open in the nado and have it go thru slowly and on an upwards angle.. but not too upwards, and it will come out vertically aligned. the problem is getting it to hit close enough to the nado after it falls out so that they hit, and also not being unlucky and having it come out the wrong way...
the times i hit with it, there was at least 12 wind --> towards me, so the ss hit very close to the nado, where they didnt get much chance to spread more.
QuoteYou have to be RIGHT NEXT TO IT.

ya thats what i do
but watch wind becasue if its too strong it will cary it back in the nado and completly miss.
There are two types of nado SS. So I guess we have a type 3 and a type 4 now.
The secret to the SS opening and falling in a line is for the shot to have near 0 momentum (both vertical and horizontal motion) when it opens. The less it has of both vertical and horizontal momentum, the better. That's why the skybomb is impractical at long ranges, the forward momentum spreads the shot a bit, and that's why wind against is helpful, it slows the forward momentum down to make it closer to that magical 0 speed. That's also why when you do a really high angle like 89, which has very little forward momentum, you can get the SS to be really really tight, like literally it will look like one tiny ball when it falls down if you have the correct power. One tiny ball that does 500 damage - it looks really sweet. Even when it misses it looks cool, the single ball has 6 others hidden behind it, but it looks like it hits the ground and then somehow drills down 3 inches before disappearing.
Anyway, there are 2 ways to get near-0 momentum with a nado:
1: Your original shot has near 0 power. Despite what ramza says about the nado being an accelerator, your shot actually exits the nado at the exact same speed as it enters the nado. The nado only changes the location of the shot's path without changing its speed. If you ignore the tornado animation, it's like the shot is travelling on one smooth curved path, then magically teleports to a different smooth curved path above or below the original arc. If the shot entered the nado at angle 65 (assuming you're firing right next to or from inside the nado) with almost 0 speed, it exits at the exact same angle with the exact same speed, just further forward and higher up. So you have the near 0 speed requirement, and the nado spin animation takes care of the SS airtime requirement.
Screenshot: http://creedo.gbgl-hq.com/367type3ss.png (http://creedo.gbgl-hq.com/367type3ss.png)
2. Another way to get near 0 momentum for a slightly further shot is to have the shot enter the nado at the top of its arc. It doesn't matter if the top if its arc = very very high in the air or very very low. The point is that any shot near the very peak of its arc will have very little momentum, all the upward momentum from being shot out of the cannon is expended, and gravity hasn't had a chance to give the shot downward momentum yet, so for a split second the shot is more or less standing still. That's why skybomb SSes can work, you choose the power that carries the shot only a certain distance before it loses its momentum, and if the power is correct the shot will be at that magical near-0 speed when the bubble splits.
So in this situation, when the shot enters a nado at that magical near-0 speed it spins around the nado very very slowly and has very little horizontal speed, and pretty much 0 vertical speed in either direction. You'll know it when you fire a test shot and it wraps around the tornado very slowly and in a perfect horizontal line straight across the nado. If you were playing armor, your should 2 would bounce off the nado at this speed. That's the ideal setup for this kind of nado SS. When you can see that you have it, the SS will move slowly through the nado and you'll be doing a skybomb SS. The loss of airtime that comes from using less than usual 3.8ish power level... is made up by the extra airtime that comes from spinning slowly through a tornado. So even with 1 or 2 or 3 bars of power, the shot has time to open.

ah very well put creedo, it all makes much more sense :D:
time to screw around some more with the crazy nado shots...
WE LOVE CREEDO
Oh yeah, and thanks for saving that screenshot of mine.. I was looking for it.
^^
(spammy 1 liner!)
By the way creedo, should I add stuff for Type 1-4 SS or just 1-2? I'm not experienced enough yet, so for 3-4 I'm just going to quote you. What do you think?
I think u can do turtle ss through tornado with any angle but u have to adjust the power. For a perfect SS, it has to open on the upper part of the trajectory (skybomb type), so u dont need to be right next to it. It depends if the tornado is thin or thick too, cuz ur shot spends more time inside thick nados.
Ramza: Completeness never hurts. You don't have to make an official type 3/type 4 section, but an explanation of the 2 ways to make a tornado SS effective would be helpful.
Mishi: long time no see :D
