Hello. I am sort of a new player of gunbound (a double wooden hammer) and i am ready to buy my first avatar clothing/face/hat/etc. I'm a boy and ive spent a long time scanning through the stats and trying to figure out which one would be best to get first. I was thinking probably something like red nose because of it's popularity, or ANYTHING with good popularity so that my gold gets high faster so that i can buy "actual" stuff faster.
What do you think is the best first boy avatar thing to buy and start with? (keep in mind it has to be lower than like 40,000 gold)

That's what I am doing on my noob account, I want to see how much money I can get before a certain rank.
I would say wait untill your a double metal axe before spending anything.
Don't buy money suit. Your gold doesn't make THAT drastic of an improvement, and you get the reputation of a moron. Stick to avatar off servers, and buy what you think looks good, not what has good stats :)
Get the money suit as fast as you can. Just don't act like an idiot and go overboard trying to get personal gold at every turn instead of the team win. For then you will indeed be labeled a moron for the things you do, not the clothes you wear...

If your want good stats...I recommend.
A sensor helm, its a rarely used item, its has 6 defense and 3 attack, and is cheaper than almost anything else with similar abilities.(btw it is in the middle of the shop not at the top)
I also highly recommend sheild and spear
giving 6 attack and 6 defense for very cheap, you will not find a better bargain.
Heavy armor is also a must once you have accumulated some cash, at only 30k it gives 12 defense (only 9 less than Golden, which is the best in the game)
A hockey mask is also an excelent buy, you may be thinking about buying battle goggles, dont, the hockey mask has 6 defense and 6 health, its like having both blue and black battle goggles equiped at one time, and for less of the cost.
price= 30k (only 10k more than a battle goggle)
However I do recommend that you buy the items like this :
1. sensor
2. shield and spear
3. heavy armor
4. hockey mask
This is a suit I designed. I didnt use it, but I have discovered now, after it is too late that this is the cheapest, best suit you can buy.
although I have some advice for you...stay away from higher ranks, like wands and high level axe's. you cant win, and they are only going to take advantage of you while your learning.
also, stay in the non-stats zone untill your suit is near completion, fighting some one with better stats who is above or at the same skill level as you is un-advisable.

Heavy armor
pet 01
Ox shield
48 defense, shouldnt take you to long to get either. Only costs 232k
Another good suit (also for stats, even though I prefer style personally)
Indian fighter hair 50k
Pirate suit 60k
Matrix Glasses 56k
Gold hammer 65k
This one is more expensive but give you a nice delay (18) and attack (39) combo.
The first item I ever bought was a cowboy hat, it just looks that damn good.

The first item I ever bought was a cowboy hat, it just looks that damn good.
But the items that I suggested is much lower costs wise, and it gives 30 defense, only 18 less than your's but has 9 attack and 6 health.
The items are also 30k or less, and intended so that it can be earned quickly, unlike pet -02 which is 120k and requires saving cash for a long time.
while the suit I designed is only 125k, the eyes of your suit is almost as expensive as my entire suit.
and the attack suit becomes usless aginst heavier armor, and is much too expensive, combined with the same high cost items that take new players too long to earn, and also taking into account that most new players dont know how to control delat, and dont have a high hit %, therefor being able to take the hits until they can get a lock im more important than having a high attack, which only helps when you hit.

although I disagree over the suits I have to agree with the cowboy hat choice. B)
plain and simple: buy what you think looks good, unless you play on avatar on servers(for obvious reasons -_-)
Like Bravador said, dont go straight into the avatar on servers unless your suit is complete, if you go head on into avatar on, you had better have a suit that can withstand all that pro bashing. My suit consists of Mech armor, bazooka, lazer goggles, and magician hair, just looks good to me

I don't buy guy avatars...but...i know gb will gift you marine helmet n suit when you reach stone hammer (if i remember correctly). So just save your gold for something better along the way. Stay in the avatar off servers.

What I was aiming for when I made those, was something about the same price as one piece of the so called '1337' suit. Ya know, the one everyone else uses. If you notice they both sit around 250k. It is just a mid range setup.

I bought a money suit that gives me 45% more gold, and now at Silver Axe I have Heavy Armor, Battle Goggle S, Muthaiyal Hair, and Robot X. Ive also got 97k Gold, and Im saving up for Pet 02.

A quick edit: Before you start saving, you have to make a major decision. Pretend you're playing one of those RPG's where the opening decision (do you go with Ryogo or not?) affects the path of the entire game.
In gunbound, that decision is avatar on or off. Avatar off servers give you balance, plenty of people to play against, fair games, and the chance to buy outfits just for good looks. Avatar on allows you to kick ass with stat advantages, but only after you've saved up for a long long time, plus if you're playing in avatar on while you're saving up, it's a difficult path and you'll get raped a lot by people with
better equipment and/or more skill.
So which will it be? If you decide avatar on, read the rest.
If you decide avatar off, buy whatever you want... it really doesn't matter at all.
Buy for looks or buy a gold suit so that later you can save up for a style suit faster.

Hasn't avatar stuff been posted before? I guess not yet.
Star = popularity, which means money. Each star increases gold earning by 1% for all gold you earn in the game (including win bonus).
Shield = defense, which is very very important to boost.
Sword = attack, also should be boosted (but defense comes first).
Heart = lifebar, not nearly as important as defense. In fact don't worry about it much.
Shovel = how big the holes your shot makes can get. Not very important to boost, though maxing it out is fun and sorta strong.
Orange hourglass = reduces the delay between shots, so your turn can come up faster. The amount you can reduce is pretty small, so don't worry about maxing this out. Having a little is useful.
Blue hourglass = reduces the delay you get from using items, also can allow you to get your turn to come up faster. Completely unimportant, don't bother boosting it.
Shield with blue bubble = boosts your shield regrowth, something that the bots with blue-and-green lifebars can use (but nobody else can). Also unimportant, don't bother boosting it.
Focus on Defense first, attack 2nd, and you can pretty much ignore the rest.
With that in mind, some decent stuff you can buy early:
Hockey mask (6 def + 6 life)
Muay Thai Hair (9 def + 9 atk)
Heavy armor (12 def)
Golden Hammer (18 atk)
Total stats:
27 def
27 atk
and a tiny bit of other useless stuff.
Total cost:
198,000 ...cheaper than any of the items that make up a full set except for pet-01. For a very strong item, pet-01 is pretty inexpensive, and once you have this decent 198k suit, you might want to sell your hockey mask and start saving for the pet. Later you can save for the other
avatars that people call the best, like gold armor, chief hair, and robotX.
I never really looked into it before but there are some pretty neat stat suits you can make with the newly added Great Devil gear. One came out to 50 attack 24 defense and 18 bunge. Though I'd be kinda weary to put any significant bunge stat with attack. The reason being, lets say you want to dual with an armor, I believe the first shot would hit then disturb the ground too much making the second miss, unless you hit directly.
Im not really interested in stats too much though... I just think the current "good" suits look like shit, and they do. I mean, come on, A Native American Headress with a golden suit of armor? :blink:
Right now i have a pretty good def set that i have completed
Armor- Heavy Armor
Helmet- Knight
Goggles- Hockey Mak
Flag- Ox shield
over all the stats are 39 def 6 stars -4 bunge 6 health
its a pretty good avatar set if ur on a budget and easy to earn because im only a silver axe and i already have all of this
instead of a knight helm..get a sensor helm.
Its only 7 k more and has attack as well as the 6 defense.
or even a safety helment, it has 6 defense but is 3k less.

When u say sensor, u mean laser right? If so, I will also go for laser goggle. It's pretty good with a decent price.
