Title: Gunbound Mobile Database
Post by: andrewcleung on May 25, 2004, 10:56 PM
So u want to know more about mobiles, eh? Lose a game just because of the stupid delay? Look no furthur! Gunbound Mobile Database is the solution! Its target audience is not just to noobs, but also to pros too!

This is the link to Gunbound Mobile Database (http://www.geocities.com/gunbound_canada/index.html)

It has everything from ratings for each mobile's attack, defense, climbing, bunge, and for some, even guides! Not only that, u can see each mobile's HP, shot delay, average shot damage, angles, the weight of the shot, and even how each shot looks like!

And for advance players, u can even check each mobile's strength and weakness against ur target so that u can plan on ur next move.

There're sideboards in this site too. U can check in the site to see if u did a high damage. Just click on the drop-down menu and select "Hall of Fame". If u did a higher damage than the top 3 damage in the table, u can change the table now by placing ur name on it! For details on how to show ur highest damage, click here. (http://www.gbgl-hq.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=2545)

Hope everyone likes this site. Remember, if u see something wrong in the site. Post it here.

Thank you.

There sure are a few things on there that could be changed, though. Raon, bunge is 2? Mage is 4?

for the bunge part, i think you need to make a separate stat for weap1, 2, and ss.  you probably shouldnt just average out the bunge between the 3 of them, since that's not very useful

nak shot 2 also goes up to 300 damage, more sometimes, probably due to weaknesses and what not

hm, you also shouldn't put a min damage, since none really exists.  just set a max damage

Dragon can do up to 400 damage if all 4 fireballs hit.  Also, turtl doing 200-450 damage?  Rama would not like to see his poor turtle get whored :P

Thanks for ur comments, dont hesitate to make more.

For masterofme: I fixed the bunge stats for raon and mage.

For Glamous4eva: I know I need to change the Aduka shot 2 and SS images. I m currently requesting for an Aduka SS.

For DataSlycer: I fixed Dragon and Turtle's damage. They have increased.

For Shinryu: I use china's gb site for the weapon images. I didnt know the KGB (Korean Gunbound) also have these images.

Well, it would be better if there're multiple screenshots.

Btw, i m asking the original chart owner if i and him swap some of our own site features and combine it together. I am swapping the weapon screenshots for his strong and weak against mobiles. I just sent him the message so be patient for the next update for the site.

Ooh, the chart's quite a bit better since I last saw it.

Comments :

Armor -- Damage of shot 1 is more like 100-150...
The angle range is about 7-10 degrees smaller for shot 2 and ss.

Mage -- Damage of shot 2 is more like 185-280.
Damage of ss is more like 200-450. (460?)

Nak -- Damage of shot 1 is more like 100-150. (though I admit, 150 is really rare)
Damage of shot 2 is more like 230-320.

Trico -- Damage of shot 2 should be capped at 285-290... I personally have never seen a successful 300 damage with it. (so please, someone prove me wrong)
Damage of ss should have minimum cap of 200-250... I'll assume that the chart assumes direct hits.

Bigfoot -- Attack should be 2.5 in my opinion...
Damage of shot 1 is more like 175-210.
Damage of shot 2 is more like 175-250. (260?) (really inconsistent at times)
Damage of ss is technically dual shot 1, and yet it's around 350-450... (maybe 475 for max)
Damage of ss can reach 500+ point-blank, but I assume it doesn't count.
Weight of ss is the same as shot 1.

Boomer -- Defense is only 1 star if I'm not mistaken.
   Mentioning of backshot bonus?
Max damage of ss is more like 550.

Raon -- Interesting... Raon moves less than nak...
All shots have the same weight. Mines just follow different velocities. The difference of the velocity is constant regardless of power if I'm not mistaken.
Did I just sound nerdy?

Lightning -- Damage of shot 1 is more like 180-212. 160 is a slight miss...
Damage of shot 2 is more like 160-300+. Just add that + to the max damage, it's too indefinite...
It can be argued that the max Damage of shot 2 is twice of shot 1 (360-424, even 450), but I'll assume that the chart uses damage for a single person.
Damage of ss is more like 167-210, 180 being common.

JD -- Attack is more like 1.5 stars.
Climbing seems to be 3-4 stars from what I see...
Damage of shot 1 is more like 120-180. It's basically Armor shot 1 with light shock...
Damage of shot 2... 100 is like hitting a 160 with lightning's 1, so I'm not sure if it's valid.
Max damage of shot 2 is more like 160.
Max damage of ss is more like 320.

Asate -- Attack is more like 4-4.5 stars, mostly like Nak and Boomer.
Damage of shot 1 is more like 120-160.

From here, the image starts getting squished.

Ice -- Damage of shot 1 is more like 140-170. (I'm unsure about the max damage...)

Turtle -- Maximum damage of shot 2 is more like 360. (someone prove me wrong)
Damage of ss should assume all 6 bubbles hitting. That should be 450-550 if I'm not mistaken... I haven't seen it happen, so...    :(

Grub -- Damage of shot 1 is more like 80-120.

Aduka -- Bunge is more like 2 stars.
Movement is more like 2 stars.
Damage of ss is more like 60-180 or 80-240. I believe the beams of thor are stronger in ss...

Now, normally I'd leave the special bots out because I didn't have much time to observe them, but :

Dragon -- I think the shot weight is more like Light+... ignore this comment.

Knight -- Damage of shot 2 is more like 240-350 (375?).

-----------------------------------------------------------

Things to consider :

--Consult the Natural Enemies table in gb.net/com.
--Angle used to hit a person an entire screen away using full power.
--True angle
--Small links for shot 1, 2, and ss containing short descriptions followed by complete description. Skip the short description if the complete desc is short enough. (Note that some complete descriptions will be quite long...)
You *can* include itty bitty strategies for each shot, but that's for much later on.
--Itty bitty link to a corresponding guide, if the authors allow.
--Mobiles' weak/strong spot.

Things to consider much much later on :

--I *think* slope of the landscape change the movement distance, perhaps differently for each mobile.
--Approx. distance of full movement.
--Map "superiority" (Good in map x, bad in map y. Can be either plain saying or detailing the possible spots. Gosh, this is hefty stuff...)
--Flash interface :P

EDIT: Oh yes, how can I forget. One last thing on things to be considered added.

EDIT2: Oh, and this is for Sembiance's list. Should I criticize the up-to-date list too? o_O (andrew's seem less up-to-date for some reason)

I m back! I would like to say thanks to Nic01. He gave me constructive feedbacks. Dont hesitate to give more comments.

I took lots of comments from urs. I will start improving the site starting tomorrow. (I still got some jet lag to get over with)

I can prove to u that Trico shot 2 can give u massive damage. Cake has really good attack. I can punch someone in avatar off with over 500 damage with dual shot 1. That's y ppl say Cake is cheap bot. Ice is an unstable damage dealter. Remember shot 2 and SS effect. It is very hard to make an absolute bottom line and top damage. This also goes with Aduka. It all depends on the thor. SS is even hard! U could punch the whole team in level 6 thor dealling over 1000 damage. No one's perfect with lightning. It is too tricky to hit both lightning on target with shot 2. I assume that one will slightly off. (No one is perfect unless he's Jesus!   ) For Knight, u really never suffer pain from a Knight pro. If he (she) did everything correctly, u could take over 450 easily with single shot 2. I have even seen a Knight dual shot 2 with thor on first turn killed a Boomer! I increased Grub's shot 1 damage.

For some of ur suggestions regarding about my consideration. Here r some comments from me.
First, it's hard to say what angle u use to shoot entire screen away. It all depends on the landscape, wind, gravity, and even power. It's way too hard to say so!
Second, I wanted to make descriptions on each shot but I NEED PPL TO HELP ME! I already spend a total of more than 24 hours just to make the layouts, typing out HTML codes (i never use any site builders programs), and pictures. I couldnt spare more time typing out description. Can anyone help me typing out each shot's description? Oh yeah, 1 more thing about the descriptions. This idea is basically the same towards the OLD GBHQ forum.
Last thing. For map superiority, that's also an old idea lost in OLD GBHQ forum. I dont know y all (or almost all) guides in GBGL never have a word mentioning about map advantage or disadvantage. Perhaps they need to add that in. Thanks for reminding.

I changed a.sate's weight to light. I still need Aduka SS screenshot. I m putting on mobiles and shots "Strong and weak against". Not just only mobiles.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I m now requesting some good Flash makers to help me make some dynamic pictures for the shots. Also, the Hall of Fame (recording top 3 highest damage ppl) is now open.

Please remember to sign my guestbook![/size]

You could talk to Creedo - he's got a page listing what power it takes each bot to shoot one screen at angle 60, given that there's no wind.

A little advice, since you're making so many changes, Andrew, you might as well make your own chart from scratch, you need permission to edit Sembiance's chart before you alter it anyways. Do that in respect to the creator.

Andrew, look what I found...

QuotePlease do not STEAL this chart.
You can link to it all you want, but do not rip it and call it your own.

That's directly from Sembiance's chart. Perhaps I should make a fresh new chart, with new coding, scripting and whatnot..

I'm pretty sure the Sate shot 2 damage should be 225 to 350. If all 3 lasers hit and the other bot is strong against Sate it still does at least 225. If you hit in the right spot it can go up to 350, but I've only seen that happen a few times and it was always against boomer.
Title: Gunbound Mobile Database
Post by: Nic01 on Jul 03, 2004, 07:59 PM
I've been a grub addict lately, and :

Max damage of shot 1 should be 130 (very, very rare)
Damage of shot 2 is 130-210 (ouch. 210 is also very very rare... most of the time you'll see 130-180)
Shot 2 deploys perpendicular to your angle. (90 degrees deploy horizontally, 0 degrees deploy vertically, 69-71 lands all balls in one spot on close battles)

Grub needs serious help o_O (Though it's possible to give 700+ damage in two turn quite quickly to any distance using Thunder item, theoretically. Not easy at all.)
Oh, and it seems that directly hitting all four balls cause less damage (never above 170) than letting it roll.

Oh, and :

JD -- Shot 1 max should be 190

Turtle -- Shot 1 is 135-165.

I already asked Semibance. He sent me the whole Zip file for the whole site (including the CSS) and tell me to update it to my site. (I still have his files and his email sent to me regarding about this on my computer) So techanically i received permission from him unless u want to keep saying that he sent the file to me and didnt give me permission, eh?

I know the damage are a bit unaccurate because i still havnt made up my mind on whether the damage should be shown as Avatar-On or Avatar-Off.

For rodbeard's suggestion, if the target is right underneath u with thor, u could swing over 300 damage. I might put the number down a bit.

Ok, next thing. To Nic01: I agree that Grub's shot 1 damage is a bit too high on my site. For JD and Grub shot 2, read the above bolded and underlined msg.

For Turtle, I dont want ppl (especially ppl who plays Turtle a lot [e.g. Ramza]) come to me and complainning about underestimating the Turtle's ability.

Something I just noticed from that Tank Chart:
Armor has 4 stars for Attack.
Mage has 3 stars for Attack.
Mage damages are listed as higher.
One of Mage's delays is lower than one of the Armors.

How exactly is it that the Mage's attack is lower then? :|

*EDIT*
Unaltered(As in, pure evil damage) Trico's #2 does around 290-310.
I've only ever gotten it above the 310 mark by shooting through Force and the like.

It may be taking into account that, with some frequency, Mage doesn't hit with both shots of Shot 2 - particularly with duals. Plus, Armor's SS is universally effective. That's my guess.

I often do 210 with Armor's #2, because I can never hit the "Sweet Spot".
I have noticed that Armor's SS also requires time to become stronger than it's #2...which means that, like the Mage's SS, it must of course meet certain requirements in order to do any sort of worthwhile damage.
If those requirements aren't met the Mage's SS actually tends to outdo the Armor's SS, since I often see a 180 SS from Armor while almost always a 220+ SS from Mage.

Post by: creedo on Aug 02, 2004, 06:54 PM
Unless it's avatar on, armor SS won't do 200ish unless it's a miss.  I guess our definition of sweet spot is different - if the actual rocket touches the outline of the character's mobile, you're assured about 300 dmg, and it will be close to 400 for a center hit.  The 200 dmg is a nice bonus you get for what is effectively a missed shot that hits dirt near the mobile.  It will hit for 300+ vs any mobile, not just shield types or whatever.

About the chart, a lot of it is not quite right and it's not to be trusted if you want to rank the mobiles.  Armor's damage is generally higher than mage's all around, but for some reason mage is given a minimum shot 1 dmg of 120 while armor is given 100.  There shouldn't be a minimum damage because ANYTHING could be considered minimum damage... you can nick someone with turtle's shot 1 for exactly -1 dmg.  You can get -10, you can get -20, you can get -30, etc etc blah blah blah.  For a solid center hit, mage and armor's shot 1's are pretty comparable.  Their shot 2's are also comparable, but armor's frequently hits for really nice damage near the enemy's feet/belly, so an armor shot 2 might do 220 typically but can top 300 vs cake, boomer, bigfoot and others with lousy defense.  The chart lists mage's top as 300 (which is much rarer than armor's but still happens) but fails to list armor's 300 capability.

In terms of how reliably high your damage is for a roughly center hit, armor does a bit more than mage... mage's helix can hit at its most spread out point and each beam can end up doing less than average damage.  Armor's shot 2 bullet is 2 parts also, but they're clustered together at all times and if one hits the center, the other does as well.

I personally haven't seen Mage's SS doing substantial damage at all on a non-shielded mobile. You can't really fault Armor's SS for people not using it correctly - because then you have to make a lot of exceptions across the board. As Creedo pointed out, it'll do solid damage to ALL mobiles on a good hit, good damage on a so-so hit and low damage for a near-ish miss.

The chart should reflect what the mobile alone will do if used properly in an Avatar Off situation. Everything else is player-based variable and I'm not sure the chart should be relflecting that, except potentially in some sort of footnotes. Not my chart, though. :)

Ok guys. Maybe i didnt say clearly. But i m doing the damage count in AVATAR-OFF. I dont want to see those 50 attack or 50 defense which totally "destroys" the damage range.

Next, CRITICAL UPDATE! There was a lot of wrong info about mobiles' strengths and weaknesses. It has been updated. Nevertheless, u should go onto the critical update link to see the reasons.

Also, many things have been put into the site in these few days including Hall of Fame and Owner's Info. Time to explain what Hall of Fame is.

Hall of Fame
This is the spot where I post the top 3 damage for each mobile. It has to be using duals or dual+. (Why? I dont want ppl dual and lie to me saying "I didnt use duals so multiply that damage by 2" to the real damage)
Any shots r allowed. All rules are posted on the site. Take a look and reply in the GUESTBOOK stating your damage ALONG with a proof screenshot's URL. No screenshot = No record. Don't bother posting if u dont have the screenshot.

1 thing that needs to pay attention is that I want USERNAME and NOT game id because it will cause me too much trouble whenever someone changes their game id.

nah, depends if its short or long range.. shotgun will do maybe 290 if you're lucky, while long range, a decent 3in1 should do around 250.  It depends on where its hittin the enemies mobile, the lower and centered, the more dmg =)

Post by: creedo on Aug 09, 2004, 09:16 PM
It's still really off... cake's damage at four stars makes no sense,  that ties it with armor, nak, sate, and turtle, who are all heavy hitters. Especially since we're talking strictly avatar off. With cake, you can do maybe 210 dmg on a miracle hit and 165ish on a normal everyday hit, and when you dual the damage isn't truly doubled because one of the shots doesn't do splash damage... so a dual is effectively 300 dmg where most other mobiles get 400-500.  Why would lightning have less atk dmg than cake?... when lightning's shot 1 is almost identical but stronger, and shot 2 has 300+ dmg potential while cake's 2 is weaker than shot 1.

I seem to remember posting a bunch of corrections, but I guess they were disagreed with or didn't get seen.
I'm bored enough to post another list, and I hope you don't take offense, I would like to see this chart become something good and accurate.

Corrections list:

Explosive type shots are do not do get bonuses (or do less damage) vs certain types...  That's from the official site. So while mobiles like armor could be called weak against the electrical types, it is not especially strong against organics or shield types or whatever.  The damage it does is strictly based on the target's natural defense... so armors do more damage to low defense bots like bigfoot and ice, and less damage to very tough bots like turtle.  You have trico being strong against aduka and weak against aduka, wtf :X

Nak machine is not organic... hence the name "nak machine".  So you should scratch out nak as being weak against lasers, it takes only average damage from laser types.

Trico's shot 2 does NOT do 500 damage. Suicide, shotgun, whatever, it just doesn't happen.  It's does damage in the low 300's for a very nice, rare hit. This may or may not affect your rating of 4.5 stars for attack strength, though I'm prepared to accept that rating for damage if boomer's dropped to the same.

Just a typo, but you didn't fill in bigfoot's shot 1 max damage, which I'd put at around 210.

Boomer is not on the knight/dragon level for attack, the rating should be dropped a half star.  A normal dragon dual can, up close, do over 700 with no special help.  Boomer hits 300 every so often, and never 350.  Dragon and knight hit 350 with shot 2 all the time.

Boomer's SS upper damage level is 600, though I'll admit this is rare (needs a backshot).

Lightning's movement should be 4.5 or 5 stars, it can move further than anyone except cake, and their movement range is pretty much tied.
On a similar note, I think JD should get five stars for movement, I'm not sure that even knight/dragon move further.

Sate's shot damage numbers are pretty off, you have the shot 2 doing more damage than the SS.
Shot 2 'once every 100 games' damage is 320, with 240-260 being more typical.  The SS hits 500 vs boomer and other organics quite easily.  It can even do it vs turtle with a perfect hit, so the upper level for SS should be at least 500.  Also, sate's tracers are quite heavy, see:
http://media.virtuafighter.com/media/gb/Fixed_60.txt (http://media.virtuafighter.com/media/gb/Fixed_60.txt)
You can see that even though they look small and light, they are heavier than armor and turtle's shots.
You also have sate and raon equal for bunging, I'd give raon a half star more.
Sate's defense is also higher than cake, boomer, and trico's. That's one of the reasons why kiwibonga's always grousing about it :B
Are you counting HP when you determine the defense?  If you aren't, then ice's defense should be lower... the worst damage-takers in the game are:
bigfoot
ice
cake
boomer in that order.

Ice's movement and climbing are both better than you've listed, although his angle range is so huge that it almost doesn't matter.
Ice's shot weight is light, it's the same as cake's.

Turtle's shot 2 is another weirdly high damage rating.  You should decide whether you want the attack damage ratings to reflect "normal" damage, "once in a while" damage, or "once every 500 games" damage.  Turtle doing more than 300 damage with an unassisted shot 2 in avatar off is something I've seen like a dozen times in 5000 games.  To get that kind of damage you usually need to be doing some damage to yourself.  I think a realistic upper bounds is 320, which is still really rare.  450, you need to produce a screenshot for that.

Aduka attack should not be called 4.5 stars, though I understand that it can hit for more damage than anyone once it's powered up.  I'd look at aduka's damage as an average between the unpowered damage (150ish) and the full powered level (350ish?).. the average of those two numbers is 250, which I think deserves no more than 4 stars.  The best way would be to put some sort of note about the damage rather than just give 4 stars.. maybe color the stars differently and include a * with a note about how the damage increases.  I've also never seen the SS do 700 damage with a single hit to 1 enemy before, maybe I just don't see enough aduka.

Last thing, dragon's shot is around bigfoot's weight... call it average+.

PS: To be more accurate, this chart should either eliminate lower damage levels and just give a 'typical' damage, or give only realistic damages that happen fairly often (i.e. a lower for turtle shot 2 would be 170, upper 260) ...
or else just give 4 different damage levels for each shot...
"vs enemy with good defense and natural protection to your shot type"...
"vs enemy with ok defense but no natural protection to your shot type" ...
"vs enemy with low defense"
"once every 500 games miracle damage vs low defense enemy"

As it stands, your damage ratings are all over the map, with bigfoot getting realistic everyday damages, sate and turtle getting wildly inflated miracle rare damage, and some others just getting damage numbers that don't happen.

another way to make the chart more accurate: merge climb and movement, since they go hand in hand.. having short movement is just as crippling as having lousy climb.

So movement becomes mobility, and climb should be replace with angle, because angle is really important and it isn't reflected on the chart.

Just so this wasn't a total bitchfest, I made you an aduka SS picture.  It's probably isn't very close to the real thing but at least you'll have something.

Suggestion : Have a four-number system, the outer two number being greyed out -- these are the absolute extremes.
Just a suggestion -- ya know, a little like a text-based box and whisker plot.

[ sample : 100-200-300-400 ]

--Hall of Fame seems a little iffy of an idea...

I might return with the numbers for the grey and dark areas of damages if it's accepted, but do realize that I'm not terribly accurate  <_<

*EDIT*
Unaltered(As in, pure evil damage) Trico's #2 does around 290-310.
I've only ever gotten it above the 310 mark by shooting through Force and the like.
nah, depends if its short or long range.. shotgun will do maybe 290 if you're lucky, while long range, a decent 3in1 should do around 250.  It depends on where its hittin the enemies mobile, the lower and centered, the more dmg =)
The shot can do 320 when it has no space to travel and hits the person right when you shoot, like when your aimer is in the other mobile

To creedo, (I got a lot to write to u so only read if u got time). First, sorry for not updating because i need to go to my friend's home to check my email, site and forum. But i could barely have an hour check b4 my friends start telling me that he needs the computer to play games.
I promise that I will read ur comments and update it b4 Sept 5.

For the mobile thingy, I wrote down "MOBILE TYPE", not "weapon type". In mobile type, every mobile has its strengths and weaknesses. In weapon type, explosion type doesnt have strengths and weaknesses. I understand that it is rather confusing, but if u pay attention closely, u can see the differences.

These 2 links can help solving ur confusing.

This is mobile type link: Mobile Type from GB site (http://gunbound.net/gunbound/gun_char.asp)

This is weapon type link: Weapon Type from GB site (http://gunbound.net/gunbound/eng_gun_weapon.asp)

Now compare these 2 webpages, u can see that there's a clear difference between the 2.

EDIT: All strength and weakness have been finally uploaded. Hope all of u enjoy it!

Andrew, a few things.

I've never seen mage shot 2 do 300 damage in the year i've played. You said these were stat off with no weather effects, so that's an inaccuracy.

Bigfoot's shot 1 does closer to 190 maxed out, not taking tank weakness into account. On a weak tank, maybe like 200 ish.

Boomer's shot 2 also doesn't do 300 damage under any non weather circumstance. The most i've seen on a unaffected shot 2 in avatar off would be like 260-70 ish.

I think raon shot 2 does more like 300 ish, and maybe like 320 on weak tanks.

Lightning shot 2 maxes out at 275, and shot 1 is a little higher than 180. Maybe mid 190's?
well in any event ill stop because i'm not even sure you're still updating it, but those things looked a little iffy to me.l

Post by: Cakensodomy on Nov 07, 2004, 08:33 PM
now it does. It wasn't working for me this morning,

I would like to point the following out:

Armor -
Shot2's max should be closer to 290
SS Should be 200 to 650. Its just somewhat random like a lesser trico SS.

Mage-
Come on, he desirves 3.5 stars for attack!

Nak-
Shot2's max should be 300

Trico-
SS's max should be 650. Its incredibly random, i've hit from 68 to 866 without weathers.

Boomer-
You may want to review the SS damage. Today, while practicing boomer, I hit a 550 on my friend with 50 def, and I only have 21 atk. Big gap there.

Lightning-
SS's minimum should be around 130

JD-
SS's max should be 330

Ice-
He has more than 1.5 stars worth of defence. He's one of the more defensive bots, last I checked.

Grub-
700 on a SS with no avatar? Wow, I'll have some of whatever you're smokin.

If you want me to proove all of this with screenshots, i'd be glad. Just give me time to hit that much on avatar off =P

First of all, thx to Glamous4eva who spotted the link doesnt work. I changed it. Thank you.

Second, Helstar, I will still update the site. Look at the bottom of the page and it displays the last update (which is nov. 8)

Third, thanks for the damage correction (especially the mage and lightning one, I overlooked it and now i thought, hey, that's a miracle shot).

Fourth, I know these damage are avatar-off and no weather. But most of the time, there's force, lightning, or thor weather which can totally change the damage system. Remember that it's AVERAGE DAMAGE, not minimum. The minium is very obvious, 0, if u miss or u shoot nothing but air.

Fifth, be expected to see the layout change in christmas holidays. I might change the site so that each page only displays 1 mobile instead of displaying everything on single page which takes a long time to load.

Sixth, if u want to be affliates, u need:
an affliate button, ur site URL, and ur site's name

Seventh and the last, if u see more damage problems, post it here. But like creedo said "It's getting closer to everyday damage"

Your entire post is just a flat out lie. I've seen perfectly landed mage shot 2's, lightning shot2's and boomer shot 2's and your damage counts are just ridiculous.

With no weather, in avatar off even factoring in tank weakness to your shot your damage values are ridiculous. And yes, I would like to see your screenshots of mage's shot  2 adding 90 damage to it's average shot .

Lightning shot 2 does go over 300, but landing shot with that damage have some requirements on enemy placement and shot 2 landing placement. Overall that is very rare, and not sure if should be considered really.

Also, the list of worst damage takers should have also grub among first imo.

Lightning shot 2 deals over 300 would occur either
A) In avatar on

B) it's a 1 in 1000 shot

As for mage bunge, I will change it to 3. Thanks for ur comments.

Wrong.

I can plan and intentionally perform a  +300 shot with Lightning. Basically you just get the enemy on a slope like this / and shoot  at the right corner of their mobile with shot 2. Expect damage as high as 350 with no weather.

In avatar on with the same method you can do up to 500 damage with a 50 attack suit.

And about the bigfoot damage.

That was a dual shot 2, No weather, avatar off, on an A Sate no less.

Any good bigfoot player knows that you should get close enough to land all four missiles for shot one or not even bother trying. And without even a perfect hit it does 200 easily. The average is around 220. Shot 2 (When used correctly i.e. shotgunned) does 250. When done with the method in my screenshot it does around 300-350.

So have I. What most people don't seem to realize is that hitting the front of the bot will give more damage than hitting the top of the bot. I've gotten 300+ damage as Armor against a Boomer in Avatar Off with a shot 2. That's with no weather effects.

Andrew, no updates?

-No scrolling news please, just a box with its own scroller would do great.
-Affiliates
-I see you didn't do much to the damage yet... (some bad ranges, I still think the lowest-low-high-highest would be best for the job... too much inconceptions possible with only minimum and max)

What's with the <% BOARD HEADER %> ? XD
Title: Gunbound Mobile Database
Post by: andrewcleung on Jan 15, 2005, 09:12 PM
Got exam coming up at the end of January so sorry, no updates until February.

Scrolling news saves a lot of time updating and it looks cool since an addition box with scroller will slow down even more when u open the site. (I use 56k and I can tell u my experience)

I understand that the page is very long so not too many ppl see the affilates section on the BOTTOM of the site. Well, I dont know wherelse I should put it since it shouldnt obscure ppl that r trying to read the page.

If i write minimum for each shot, it will be 0. Simple enough? Maximum damages are often hard to determine and I could get yelled at for this whenever someone does an extraordinary damage. Besides, I get my damage from avatar-off but some ppl might just want to show-off by going to avatar-on zone and tell me it's avatar-off damage. Also, some max damage will scare people. For example, look at the "Hall of Fame" first place for Dragon, over 1300 damage. This will make most of the noobs open the mouth.

<% BOARD HEADER %> is inherited from forums. If u want to know the real reason, well here it is. It's there just to confuse ppl that try to copy out the site, especially website beginners and HTML noobs. It doesnt do anything at all! :D:
Title: Gunbound Mobile Database
Post by: creedo on Jan 16, 2005, 03:33 PM
for minimum and maximum, there should be either
a: no minimum at all (not useless column with 0 dmg because that's obvious)
b: 3 damage levels based on enemy defense like,

"typical damage vs cake: 265"
"typical damage vs lightning: 240"
"typical damage vs turtle: 220"

I think the last is too much info, we already know that cake takes a bit more than average and turtle a bit less.
I think no minimum at all makes sense, since there are 10,000 ways to half-miss an enemy and damage from a half miss is completely random.

Finish updating the site. Not a lot of new stuff but I now use frames to separate the banner and the contents. Next update should be around March Break. I will make a mobile per page. I will also add shots description (like GBHQ did) but I dont know the code to open a new window without displaying URL n stuff.

P.S. I somehow lost Ramza's Turtle Guide during the update process. Just curious, I found that there're lots of ppl whine about my site while there's virtually none to GBHQ when both our sites are so similar that it's nearly identical. Maybe Cazsuedo's popularity is higher than me so ppl dont complain that much ......

i just looked at the chart for the first time in a long while.  nice work you've put into it, andrew, but IMO there are still a lot of errors that one would hope would be fixed eventually.  some suggestions:

- this is not an 'official' work.  if it was official, softnyx would be publishing it, not the fans.  as a matter of fact softnyx already DOES make an official tanks chart which can be found at their site.  granted it's not the best, but that's not the point.  you should rename yours "unofficial" to clear up any confusion.  expecially if you are asking for avatar contributions.

- the shot weights are not particularly accurate IMO.  for example, trico's is not the heaviest shot in the game, it's the 2nd-heaviest.  nak is first.  grub shots are not average, they're more like 'light'.  dragon is not heavy enough to be 'average+'.  the simplest fix IMO is to replace the estimations with hard #'s, for example the one-screen-distance #'s.   that will both fix the existing inaccuracies and be a lot more exact.

- several of the 'attack', 'movement' and 'bunge' estimations have obvious flaws.  for example, you currently have armour set as a 4-star attack bot based on the damage #'s while the following bot, mage, has somewhat higher damage #'s but only gets listed as a 3-star attack bot.  even if you're giving the extra star to armour because of it's shot 2 being two separate parts that's not enough to make such a big difference IMO.

for bunge #'s, you have armour doing 4 stars and trico doing 4.5, yet bots such as BF only gets 4, raon only 3.5, aduka only 1 and worst of all, dragon only 2.5.  dragon (super bigfoot) may be the best bunge bot of all, BF should be right behind with 4.5, raon deserves no less than a 4 and lowly little aduka is quite capable of both ripping up land with shot 2 and bunging directly with shot 1- it's arguably one of the better bunge bots in the game.

as for movement, i don't see as many problems, but boomer definitely deserves more than a meager 3.

anyway, my suggestion would be getting rid of the 'attack' estimate altogether.  it's very debatable as is, and with the actual damage #'s sitting directly to the right it's redundant at best and confusing at worst.  bunge needs a lot more input from the experts here IMO and as for the difference between 'movement' and 'climbing'- i don't see a lot, but that's just me.

-Nak's is the heaviest shot, not trico.

-...how is aduka a good bunge bot?  It's horrible in every way for bunging.

uh, that's what i just said.

> ...how is aduka a good bunge bot? It's horrible in every way for bunging.

i just explained how.  compare it to a similar bot like boomer which is great at ripping up land yet has a super-hard time making the 'bunge kill'.  aduka rips up land almost as well with its shot 2, but unlike boomer, can then use a direct attack to bunge the victim (shot 1).  no bots other than BF, super-BF and raon can destroy so much land so quickly and so precisely.  even a strong bunge bot like raon has a surprisingly hard time making the final bunge shot to knock the person off the tiny piece of land they are stranded on.  particularly with distance- it can be maddening.  but aduka you can hit that same victim with a messy shot 1 and... down they go!

You can say aduka's a good bunger all you want...but it won't make it true.  The fact is that while Aduka can makes holes well, it can't make them  to bunge a bot.  The hole is just not big enough, and it depends on thor's position too much.

Aduka is an ok bunger (only ok) if you miss a shot.  If you hit all three, bunging is minimal.  Shot 1 can bunge a bit, but it's pretty weak.

oh ok, i guess i'm just incredibly lucky.  keep it at one star, then- it's obviously the worst bunge bot in the game and i'm just blessed by god or deity of choice when i use it.

i agree that the depicted scenerio is a toughie, but then again that's a fairly extreme situation because A) thor has to be all the way to one side and B) the opponent is all the way on the other side and C) you are on the wrong (far) side of the opponent.  that's great, but the fact is that pretty-much every bot has similar scenerios in which they can't do what you'd like them to do.  in fact that's part of the charm of the game is these kinds of challenges.  anyway, i agree that aduka can be tricky to use effectively as a bunge bot, but the fact is that cake and raon can be amazingly tricky as well.

maybe it's just me, but i find aduka shot 1 to be a fairly good closing bunge shot.  unlike many other bots, you can hit someone dead center in the hitbox and still eat up land.  by contrast, even sloppy raon shots will often be completely absorbed by the hitbox.  cake shot 1 bunges very little on a hitbox hit, and with shot 2 you need land which often isn't there, requiring a very exact shot if there is no nearby land to do the magnetism thing or the bot is organic.

another thing to consider is that bunging is often best-done with teamwork.  and the fact that aduka has two highly distinct shot types that makes it very useful as a complimentary bunger to my point of view.

the bottom line for what i'm saying is this- aduka may not deserve four stars, in fact maybe it's lucky just to have three, but it DEFINITELY deserves more than one IMO.  really, i don't think any bot deserves one star for bunge and maybe even two stars is too low.  even grub can be super useful as a bunge helper at times.  every bot has bunge value if you know how to use them.  otherwise i'd say the weakest bot for bunge might be grub, but not aduka.

regardless of this debate, i don't really appreciate your being so critical in the face of some new suggestions.  we all know the tanks chart needs continuing work, right?  when i see someone post a list of things that's at least moderately well thought-out i don't single out the ones i disagree with and start arguing from there as if the other person was trying to stir up trouble.  i note the points i agree with first because the whole idea is that if something makes sense more than just one person is going to lobby for it.  you could have helped lobby for the points you actually did agree with, assuming there were any.  beyond that, it's just a simple courtesy to appreciate someone's work if they are trying to be constructive.  but maybe you didn't feel i was trying to be constructive, i dunno.

You may want to use that for the mobile hps ;)  I don't think it's perfect, but quite a fartload better than some of the figures you have.. Since when did trico have hp in the 900's? o.0

Ok, long time no see guys. I basically quittend GB. I won't play GB unless MS is down but this don't happen often.

So I want somebody else to take care of my website. To make sure it falls into good hands, I won't hand it to someone that's just have good ranks. I also need them to have not only minimal HTML skills, but can input/edit the raw codes without Microsoft Front Page (since these codes won't work in Front Page). And one last thing, be able to handle the mass amount of code in the website. I really do mean huge amount. The codes can go beyond 40 pages in MS-Word using Times New Roman font 8.

Thank you for reading and good luck in future.

I could take it over. It sounds like a classic case of graphical web design programs creating junky, cluttered html code. I wouldn't be shocked to find out I could condense it to 5-10 pages of cleaned up code.

It would get a lot of traffic as an extension of my site.

Hmm..I was a lightning user around a few months ago(close to a year). I'm quite sure lightning shot 2 can do up to 310 atleast, without any weather effect.

And....Bigfoot's shot 1 can easily do 190 -200 in close range, thats why even when used  :dualevil2: Bigfoot can still do 400+ :D

Btw,my first post I think.

There were a lot of little things like this that I plan on fixing now that I'm running the mobile database.

The problem is there's a lot of recoding to do, and it will take hours, and it's summer. I'm allergic to work during the summer. So, if you will wait patiently, I'll eventually have a corrected GBMD up.
