I saw The Grudge just last night, and I admit that it's probably one of the best horror films I've seen thus far.  The story is rather thought provoking, but leaves a few unexplained holes as many horrors tend to do these days. There wasn't a whole lot of gore, but the disturbing imagery was indeed quite disturbing and catches you off guard.

Oh yeah, and Toshio aka. CatBoy aka Meowing kid is fscking awesome.

Yeah, go watch it and then decide to take a walk down a dark road on a cold night...good times.

There's a preview for a movie called White Noise along with it. It looks really interesting. It's about EVP, which is basically communicating with ghosts through electronic recording.
Random fact about Vin Diesel:  Vin Diesel once cooked 400 tons of chicken noodle soup for the needy but then drank all but 1 in a bet with Samuel L. Jackson.

The Grudge is actually a rip-off from the korean horror movie, Ju-On. Seriously. It might just be trying to follow The Ring, but at the least The Ring (American Version that is) retains its original name. The grudge is.... meh.

Just like The Ring, not worth my money. Just got a couple good laughs because a few of my friends were screaming their heads off.
The storyline is kind of familiar with The Ring too. You watch a dumb videotape, you're cursed. You barge in a cursed house, you're cursed.
I don't expect PG-13 horror films to be scary. They might be disturbing to look at, but they're not anything to scream about.
My point of view, so work with me here.

I do believe it's a remake, not a ripoff. From the best of my knowledge, they had the same director film Ju-On and The Grudge.
