Well question i have here is...

Say you're driving and you want to get through a U-Turn fast as possible...If this is even possible...

If you're able to turn into the u-turn at full accelleration but is near the outside of the turn, would it be better to deaccelerate and/or brake to take the shortest route possible? Like  (Ruling out the fact that nobody is Fujiwara) I was bored and thinking of things and was also wondering if the same applies to go carts, which dont even needs braking when turning.

Might be the wrong place but im curious

I think it would all depend on whether the car is a front or rear wheel drive and from there whether the brakes apply to the drive wheels or the other ones. Cuz, I think, if it's a rear wheel drive, and the brakes apply to the rear, the front wheels would be free for turning on a dime, in which it would be the best choice......but then again....what the hell do I know....all my driving experience comes from Gran Turismo  :jumpy:

I played GT3 alot myself but i think you missed the question. Im asking if going into a turn at full acceleration in completing the turn not in the shortest route is better than braking and/or deaccelreating into the shortest route

If you are making a U turn it is much better to deaccelerate.  By going at full acceleration, you may miss the oppurtunity of seeing the opposite end of the road.  By doing this you risk the chance of an accident.  Even if you did look at the opposite side it is better to take the slower route, it is much better practice.  Also, when making a U turn you have to yield to EVERYONE, so going quickly past someone is unlawful (and should be punished with an accident sometime in the near future)

Tooya, what if there was no other side of the road? then would you say the same thing? (as in one way)

if it's one way, you oughtn't be making a u-turn at all ;p

Well I have a 1980 280 ZX.....

It can corner better than most sports cars nowadays, I dont usually like to slow down around curves, just stick it in 3rd gear and screech around.

vans and suvs cant do that though, to top heavy and higher off the ground.

If you can't say something nice, say something vague.
