HeadFace and creedo are the top contenders for overall Turtle skill.. I think they deserve it. There are a lot of people here who are great.. I'm not saying that only HF and creedo are good Turtle users. They just rank the highest in my book. Sorry SLdK. :(

Ramza, that's a drag.  I understand, sort of.  For a while I had problems with my chick because she felt I spent excessive time on the PC and was ignoring other, more important things (i.e. her).  It's one of the reasons I'm hardly on gunbound anymore. I guess it's a common issue for our generation, one that might go away or get worse as internet access creeps closer to the 'everyone, everywhere has it' mark.

I was given an ultimatum to either limit myself or give it up for a stretch, I tried limiting myself and found that (yay) life outside the internet is great and I don't really feel the urge to jump on forums or games or whatever. A lot of time spent online, if it's not spent playing a game that forces you to wait (Gunbound), is wasted doing stuff you really can be just as happy NOT doing:

1. Sitting on irc - to kick an internet addiction, uninstalling IRC is really key. Just get off it. IRC is the opposite of productivity.  It pretends to be a cure for boredom, when it reality it's just preventing you from finding some ACTIVE way to truly kill boredom.  Trust me, you'll stop missing IRC almost immediately.

2. Forums - even my dad is hooked on internet forum posting, which is good in a way, he can't give me any shit about my own posting habits without looking like a hypocrite.  About 90% of the posts people make on forums are garbage. A few people have good posting habits and try to put something useful in every single post, but even THOSE people probably don't accomplish anything half the time. The next time you view unread posts, try clicking only on threads that genuinely look interesting and never-before-posted, and when you're in those threads, only click reply if your response is something useful that nobody else said and nobody else is likely to say.  You'll find that out of 5 pages of new posts you really only "need" to click reply 3 or 4 times, and I say 'need' loosely.

3. Online games - are fun, but real life games are also quite fun and more socially rewarding and they don't worry your parents.  I'm lucky to be able to play pool and billiards well and have fun doing it, I recommend finding a buddy and learning with them... or find something similar. Some people are just born with need to play games competitively, something like pool can give you your competitive gaming fix and at the same time keep you off the PC.

I guess advice for getting yourself off the PC isn't any use if someone else is literally forcing you to give it up for a long stretch. I hope you don't have to deal with forced downtime, but I think you'll find that situation is not nearly as boring or intolerable as it sounds.  Also, if you're desperate, you could still find some college or library connection. In your shoes, I'd suggest to your parents/handlers that you need the internet for at least schoolwork, and prove that you're capable of sticking to a short stretch (30 mins to 1 hour a day) of computer usage, show them that they don't need to literally unplug it or whatever. Stick religiously to the 1 hour limit, don't fudge it by more than a minute or two, and don't make any efforts to get around it by going online while everyone's asleep, etc. If you prove you can handle limited time on the PC, you'll eventually get to set your own schedule for using it and hopefully by then you'll be cured of whatever makes you want to be online for more than an hour or two a day.

PS: Just a general note - I don't "officially" quit games like some people, but after finally hitting a 3 digit ranking I found I had nothing left to play Gunbound for... I'm pretty much bored of it. It sucks, but it had to happen eventually.  So I'll say that I'm very willing to teach turtle or whatever, but you'll need to be lucky to be on gunbound at the same time as I am.  I'll probably pick it up again when they release the next new round of mobiles, but until then... I can't see myself playing just to check out the hot new cake 5% defense boost or whatever other minor updates come up. I'll still check forums because it's easy and I type pretty fast... so I'm still around if anyone wants to ask questions about the guide or whatever.

You know, you could be a little nicer to creedo. He wasn't even talking to you and you make a rude comment like that.

Headface: Fuck off, troll. Only one person was meant to care about what I said, and that person saw the message and thanked me. I could give half a shit for your opinion, all you ever do is post one liners and flamebait.

Jiro:  Ignore him, he's just one of those kids who's always fishing for a reaction out of people... probably will be that way the rest of his life.  The only cure for people like that is to pray to your diety of choice that he steps off a curb too late to spot the speeding bus.

Ramza: I can see you're still online for now so it looks like the problem has blown over a bit... I'd think if anything drastic was gonna happen, it already would have. Good luck with it.

Creedo, Jiro wasn't agreeing with you.

And I don't see why your made. I asked you if we were supposed to care about it, and then you said we wern't supposed to care about it. So actaully I was within perfect rights to have said that, and did not mean any offence by it, and you blow up and act like a complete asshole.

take care ramza, best for you in your future life, and hopefully your parents can see past everything, dont worry, i still jerk off with my computer in the lounge room,. you'll be fine.

creedo

lol headface, you must have some pretty severe social stunting if you don't understand that "are we supposed to care about anything you just said?" is insulting. It's like saying "what, I called your wife fat, I didn't mean it as an insult, just stating a fact... I mean she obviously is, isn't she?"
Anyway, I dunno why I'm replying, you know exactly what you're saying and how it comes across. That's ok, you like to imagine I'm all "made" and that you've successfully baited another person into some snarling rage.  In reality, I can call someone troll and be completely cheerful about it, as I am now.
Cheers, asshole! :D :D :D
