I put people on my buddylist, cuz they're all cool. But if I had a choice over them or guildmates, I'd select guildmates

i know Frenchee, i know .. back when you could only be in Server 1 or 2 with NO BUDDY LIST

But now'a'days i just play with people on my buddy-list, i have no guild so screw that, and .. i only play with random people when i decide to make 1:1

I usually play with people on my buddy list, but when they're all in game, I usually play a 2v2 or 1v1 to pass the time with random people =)

everyone in my guild is my friend and they are all on my buddylist. if we don't have enough for a 2v2 or 3v3 we will play with random people...but i can't vote for all 4, so i voted for who i enjoy playing with the most, my guildmates.

now a days ill only play a game if it atleast has a person on my buddylist in it. i honnestly can't stand playing a game full of randoms

Ive been known to slaughter an over confident noob that refuses to leave, Ive been trying to start playing with people from mIRC, but then we have to go to non-stat zones.. :unsure: ...which is a kind of game Im not as used to, 2 turns and such are unheard of, heck any damage over 400 is almost never seen, regarless of weather effects, in the games I play..

Im used to really long battles where you concentrate on controlling delay, for example I use mainly 1 shot with my mage and turtle, using dual+s to deal damage and attempeting to trap an opponent so you can get an extra shot off, then dual when they down in the very low red..its all about stradegy and accuracy, you have to hit 9+ shots, you miss, you likely lose.

Then I go into non-stat, and you can easily take 600+ damage from a boomer, and no one seems to use 1 shot, or worry about trapping or delay control quite as much.


there are 2 different styles, near as I can figure, drawn out battles where you try to out wit and trap opponents, like chess, then avantar off, where you try to deal huge ammounts of damage and have multiple people focus on one person to kill them off in 2 turns, which is more like paint ball than chess.

meh, I would addapt easier if I didnt purple box all the time, which seems to happen mostly during GbGl battles, ive never noticed that otherwise..

yeah, i know what you mean.  i always lose when i go to non stat zones.. it is so different from playing someone else with 30 attack, 50 defense, and 18 health.... the most damage you ever get on a single shot is about 180 (with weather), and on a dual, maybe over 400... MAYBE... then you go into stat-off, and everyone is doing that much damage on a single shot... (it does help the average damage though )  and i can not stand it when you have 7 people in a game with full gear, and then a double metal axe, fresh off the newb servers, comes to your game and will not leave so you can play an all-full-gear game... then you have to kick him, and end up losing the key....

And when i go play in stat-off servers, my mammoth (who ive started playing almost exclusively) gets ripped apart by first shot dual shotguns with boomer.
in stat-on, i can usually out delay other people with the mammoth dual + which deals significant damage, for relatively low delay, and then save a dual for the killing blow... in avatar on, it is as if delay doesnt even exist...  in my games, the only time you see a first shot dual, is if there is a good weather effect, followed by a series of tornados/item locks (i.e. cave side B) where you will not have another chance to dual for quite some time.

In this kind of game, you can try to use cover so the enemy cannot not hit you.  if they miss a shot, they cannot make it all up in a 600 damage dual... one miss, and you could likely lose..

As for who i play with, i usually play with guildmantes (or former guildmates) against anyone who will play us.  i do not know anyone in real life who plays GB
