The History of Your Handle

[Papercut]

Well, I was just browsing the Toolmob board, and come up on an old-ass topic where everybody told the history of thier usernames, thanks to the Reverend Null for inspiration.

So, mine is:

kingquark - Oh man, reaching way back on this one. It stemmed from grade-school times. Something to do with Quark Incorp, a company me and my pal Hank invented.

I'm sure there were others between this space of time, but they are unimportant.

Lorik - My cousin Josh, who told me aboot... *eh* Gunbound, was using the name Erdrick at the time (from one of the Dragon Warrior games), and suggested it to me, as it was the name of another character from the game. So, I used it at GB-HQ, as it seemed fitting. Carried it over to this fine place until I had it changed to...

Papercut - At the time of this name's creation Papercut (the song by Linkin Park) made my ears orgasm and my... well... something do something. I also love the sound of it, as well as the secondary meaning of actual paper cuts.

LD50 - The masterpiece that is LD50, the album by Mudvayne. What further explanation is required. I bounce between this and Papercut, depending on the situation and who's involved.

Thaz all, folks. Hope you had fun. I do hope this hasn't been done before, I think I'd remember if it had, but I know all too well not to trust my memory.

Er, I had the name shaf1991, which was preeeeety horrid. I added a little 't' there to make it neat.

So, Shaft. Not bad. Had some asses call me a nigger so...  Changed it to Shaftronics, but fuck, who cares?

Mine is quite simple, I wanted a name but I found all the good name were taken. And I didn't want to have my name 100K 1iK@ 7h15. So I went to the old English-German dictionnary and looked up the first word that came to me first. Vollendet, perfect in german   B):. And if you pronounce it like a german but say it in english it, it sounds like "Fall in debt". Cool, huh?  :lol:

Back in the really really first months I had internet I just used my real name, Vlad. But then I had a phase when I hated my name so I started using JC Denton, pretty much the main character of Deus Ex which is my favourite game.
But then I realized I need a catchier, shorter name, and something that's more neutral, and unrelated to one thing, so I picked Icarus since it was the name of one of the AI's in Deus Ex, but it was a pretty neutral name that probably wont get me asked what's it from,and well also happens to be that I'm into Greek mythology so it all went great.

Well most of the time I just use Tweek for the boards, mainly because he is without a doubt my favorite character on South Park. However a close online friend of mine started calling me Tweekins, and I liked the way that sounded more than Tweek.

First handle evar (back in the CompuServe version 1.0 days): Fran, short for Francine. A few of my real life friends that I first met over the internet still call me Fran. Francine is my favorite character on Samurai Pizza Cats.

Second handle evar: raspberrypai. I like raspberries. And I cosplayed as an anime character named Pai. Nuff said. A friend came up with that one.

Current handle: Sammy. I saw an episode of Dynasty, an 80s soap opera, in film class and there was this girl on there named Sammy Jo who I used to impersonate really well.. and she's a bit like me. I got tired of the "Jo" part so now it's just Sammy. I get mistaken for a guy sometimes, but oh well.

Future handle: MonkeyFatsWife.

Lets see.. D:

First was back when I was on Newgrounds and had to deviate for an animator nickname.  It took me 30 days and nights to think of "Unbroken".

Then was when I needed a Battle.net name.  So I looked up some German (high five Vollendet ) and decided on Drei, the number 4.. or something.

Finally, I decided that name sucked and made up this one.  It sounds all.. asian. jajajaja.

Well, my first AIM ID, was xxxmalachicaxxx, which didn't quite fit me, but i couldn't think of anything else... my second I think, was LockNessMonster9... and then about 10000000 user names later, I became "Tonks".
