[11:42:13 pm] <+kiwibonga> Clicking on the link, I was taken to a web page that required ActiveX. As a FireFox user, I am protected from the security threat that is ActiveX, and was therefore unable to run their uninstall utility.
[11:42:17 pm] <+kiwibonga> fucking gay firefox whiner
[11:42:20 pm] <+kiwibonga> opinion dismissed
[11:44:08 pm] <arun> ROFL kiwibonga, you use IE?
[11:44:14 pm] <+kiwibonga> yeah...
[11:44:22 pm] <+kiwibonga> why would I use anything else?
[11:44:32 pm] <arun> ROFL
[11:44:44 pm] <arun> ROFLROFL lol I'm sorry I just haven't met a dumbass in quite a while
[11:44:52 pm] <+kiwibonga> see, he's a firefox zombie
[11:45:00 pm] <+kiwibonga> he's gonna tell me that I'm not respecting standards
[11:45:05 pm] <+kiwibonga> that I'm getting spyware
[11:45:09 pm] <+kiwibonga> and that I suck MS's cock
[11:45:15 pm] <+kiwibonga> all three are not true
[11:45:20 pm] <arun> Hah, but you don't have tabs.
[11:45:21 pm] <arun> :P
[11:45:28 pm] <+kiwibonga> I have the fucking windows taskbar
[11:45:31 pm] <+kiwibonga> god damn it
[11:45:38 pm] <@feerie> you can get tabs
[11:45:40 pm] <+kiwibonga> stop inventing dumb reasons to use shitty browsers
[11:45:43 pm] <@feerie> just install MSN desktop search
[11:45:48 pm] <+kiwibonga> tabs are useless if you have a windows taskbar
[11:45:56 pm] <arun> Maybe you don't like having your taskbar cluttered with windows that you forgot about?
[11:45:59 pm] <arun> No, they aren't.
[11:46:16 pm] <+kiwibonga> I usually have between 3 and 20 of those windows open
[11:46:23 pm] <arun> Nooby
[11:46:28 pm] <+kiwibonga> the point is I can get to them fast with the taskbar, regardless of the program I'm in
[11:46:41 pm] <arun> Eff running a program in 20 windows. I'd rather programs be run under one window.
[11:46:43 pm] <+kiwibonga> with tabs I'd have to switch to the browser and then go into the tab I want
[11:46:48 pm] <arun> Cry.
[11:46:49 pm] <+kiwibonga> so I prefer the taskbar indeed
[11:47:22 pm] <+kiwibonga> your opinion on tabbed browsing does not explain why I am a dumbass who should be using firefox

~~ topic gets avoided, I am victorious ~~

Haha. Shove firefox up the seventh planet from the sun.

Yes, because the browser debate is all about tabs these days... =/

Fuck you all, I'll browse with Lynx or my PSP from now on.

tabs are awesome but they're hardly unique to firefox and IMO are the least of the reasons why projects like firefox kick IE's virtual ass all over the place.  some more important ones:

- open-source project: so you can examine the source, make changes if you wish, create parallel projects (as with MAME for example) and generally feel happy that a community has created your tool instead of a corporation.  because instead of money being the primary motivation behind the product you're using, functionality is.

- lower profile: IE is by far the most popular browser and by extension the most-targetted.  just because you haven't gotten malware yet is no proof that IE is safer- it's much more likely a reflection of your browsing tendencies.  but put IE and FF side-by-side through a gamut of dangerous sites and IE is the one that will show the greater vulnerability.  not necessarily IE's fault, but a case of the old german saying "no pity for the majority" ("neine mitleid fuer die merit" or something)

- software extensions: a robust, systematic and facile method of adding custom functionality.  and just another example of community involvement and easy-to-use open-source nature.  the power you have with extensions is equal or greater to the expandability of any other product i've ever seen.

- the simple fact that you're not using a product designed by MS$, presided over by one of the world's most ruthless, clever scam-artists.  of course if you believe in capitalism and free-enterprise then you really have to take your hat off to the guy.  but if you understand how he got where he is and have a conscience then you just might not wanna have anything to do with him.

I'd agree with that if I could get extensions for Opera. My Final Fantasy XI clock (Gives me the exact time ingame, very useful for crafting and some quests) and my iTunes controller are too sexy of extensions to abandon.
