creedo thats very deatiled and all but to much info for turt

turt is VERY simple if u want it to be SS type 1 is actually harder than SS type 2....fork or (slug) shot is the easiest at low angles .....UHA is simple just not 80 = fullscreen

some angle to remeber ...

Fork/Slug shot: 45-50-55-60 nothing higher depending on wind and closeness no more then 1.5 power

Type 2 SS: Find Ur UHA angle ..FULL POWER...then lower angle  by 1 and reduce power to 3.5

UHA again fullscreen 80 is all u need to know as long as u know how to UHA

and lob use angle 70 power depending on where person is and wind

thats it Type 1 SS i not gonna get into cuz its so difficult id depnds on every variblethere is at the time

What are you talking about ???

type 1 is so easy you could do it in your sleep once you learn it.

just lob with 2 shot, if the beams come together right in the persons face (3.2seconds) your SS is a go, if not, readjust your angle lower or higher to adjust the air time.

type 2 is hard as hell, I havent even mastered it yet, and I play nothing but the 3 helix bots...

not only is your post rather hard to understand, but your also wrong is so many ways.

turtle is a very difficult bot to master, its not simple, unless all you do is sg all you can then high angle what you cant sg...its so much more than that.

you have forks, turtle-cides, slug shots, helix hits...
2 types of SS hits, how can it be simple..???

high angle shots arent the answer generally for turtle, UHA in general is less reliable now due to consistent wind oscillation...lobs are more reliable...the 2.4 system is essential for turtle...

what you wrote is false. and unclear.

maybe to u bravador but thats as simple as i can get it and false...i think not

if u need me to Type 2 SS u and fork shot BLAH BLAH BLAH u then id enjoy gaming u

/m me my user right now is TKpDrop

also umm i found out long ago turtlecides arent worth it just sg instead do upwards of 600 and dont waste ur own health

First, I just want to say that Bravodor, you really sound snotty and arrogant when you reply to other people like this, and it kinda pisses me off because I want people to share information and not be afraid to ask questions.  You too sometimes post completely wrong things and si bei pro, so please break anyone's balls. Be professional if you're going to be a mod.

I'll respond to some of the information presented here and I hope some of it turns out to be useful -

turt is VERY simple if u want it to be SS type 1 is actually harder than SS type 2
and then bravodor:
type 1 is so easy you could do it in your sleep once you learn it.

My opinion is that type 1 SS is harder.  Bravodor has posted a trick that sounds useful but you cannot easily use it in a real game. Why?
Well, first I don't know for sure that the point where both shots merge is the exact same as the point where an SS explodes.  I want to test it before I take it for gospel. Besides, how do you define "the two beams come together"... they come together gradually, so this could mean the instant they've stopped helix-ing, or a little later when they're almost touching.  Visually, it is hard to say that your shot hit the enemy "Exactly" when the beams come together.

Second, I try to present SS tricks that can be done without a test shot, and this requires a test shot.  In fact, what if you do the shot 2 and the beams do NOT come together?  First you've wasted a lot of delay for weak damage, second you STILL don't know what angle or power to use for the SS, which means gambling on another low power shot 2.  If I guess that I need angle 65, 2.05 bars.. and the shot 2 comes together too early, I cannot say with certainty "ok, I need to use 2.0 bars, angle 64"... maybe I need 1.95 bars, or some other power level.  Maybe I need angle 64, or 63, or 62. Basically the trick is only useful if you already know how much power and what angle to use, and even though you already know you still need to use a test shot.

Fork/Slug shot: 45-50-55-60 nothing higher depending on wind and closeness no more then 1.5 power

I pretty much agree, I don't think you want to use the lowest angle possible though. With a low angle I have seen two problems - the lower part starts to move downward immediately, and hits dirt before it hits dirt before it hits the enemy.  Also if you use a low angle and about .6 bars of power (which is a pretty good power level) then sometimes the upper part will be a weak hit, it flies forward and hits the back of the enemy instead of the center.  A high angle has less chance of overshooting.

Type 2 SS: Find Ur UHA angle ..FULL POWER...then lower angle by 1 and reduce power to 3.5

This is not correct, at least not for 0 wind situations or wind that is only pointing left/right.  With just 3.5 bars of power, the SS will be moving downward when it explodes, and the balls will not be clustered together.  You need about 3.75 - 3.8 bars of power for the balls to cluster... using less power or more power will cause a contra spreadgun shot (aka firewords).  Look at all of the screenshots on http://media.virtuafighter.com/media/gb/turtle_ss2.htm ...you will see the power level is always more than 3.5 bars.  Also see kiwibonga's videos linked on the main site, the last two videos show very good SSes with about 2.8 and 2.9 bars of power. Type 2 SS is not super simple (especially if there is up or down wind)...

type 2 is hard as hell, I havent even mastered it yet, and I play nothing but the 3 helix bots...

But it is also not super hard, and I find it's definitely easier than a timebomb SS.  With this type of SS, a test shot can tell you very clearly what level of power and what angle to use to make the SS hit, and you can test shot with whatever you want (1 or 2, doesn't matter which). Just knowing your high angles and also knowing kiwibonga's "1 cm less" trick will allow you to do this with no test shot at all (first screenshot in the page I linked earlier).

UHA again fullscreen 80 is all u need to know as long as u know how to UHA

Turtle 1 screen is not 80, most people will tell you it is 79.  That is mostly correct.  It actually is a bit in between, so I can see how someone might think it was angle 80. I was playing with the well-known aimbotter DrDeuce, and he is famous for saying that turtle 1 screen is 80.  I disagreed with him, and so just for fun he intentionally wasted a shot just to show me that 80, 4 bars will land 1 screen away.  It did not, and he seemed surprised.  It's the only time I saw him miss before the aimbot got patched. Maybe this story is meaningless to you, so try to find phantomd/yuenqi's armor high angle chart (it's on gbpros.com somewhere), which shows the exact landing points (measure in pixels!) where armor's high angle shots land.  Turtle's high angles appear to land the same way.

and lob use angle 70 power depending on where person is and wind

Heh this isn't helpful, it's like saying "Use my favorite angle and just guess".  People can guess using any angle, there's nothing special about angle 70 that makes it better than 75, 80, or 69, or whatever.  Still, learning a fixed angle shot is useful, so I will include some info:
Fixed 60 power levels for turtle:

Angle 60 info, thanks to the KNAT guild:
1/4 screen: 1.2
1/2 screen: 1.7
3/4 screen: 2.2
1.0 screen: 2.5

Angle 70 info, thanks indirectly to Satan12 (these are for armor, but should work for turtle):
1/4 screen 1.45
1/2 screen 2.1
3/4 screen 2.55
1.0 screen 2.9 (I think it's better to say 2.95?)

And ... to bravodor, I already said my bit...

Thank you for this guide creedo, i printed the windchart, took some basic timebomb and angle marker notes, and im a turtle pro! well... almost.

i found the windchart a bit hard to use in 1v1s
[especially with "calculate wind/2, then raise angle by the result. Then raise angle again by (result/2) degrees. Then lower 1. You dont need to lower 1 if wind is less then 12"]
it was pissing me off that the wind was 3 different from what i calculated turns earlier in large games as well...

so i did it the fast reference way and wrote in the margin:

Wind   |   Angle to Raise
1.................0
2,3..............1
4,5..............3
6,7..............4
8,9..............6
10,11...........7
12,13...........8
14,15...........9
16,17...........11
18,19...........13
20,21...........14
22,23...........15
24,25...........17
26................18

yay!

ive found that ive had an opponenet EXACTLY 1/2, 1/3, 1 screen away much more often then i expected, and have almost made a full damage timebomb!!

once again, thank you.

woah mezzaninex, nice hint haha i also had hard time computing for that WIND direction in windchart... ty for doing that i take note now lol

and to creedo:
can u link me to the lord forum where phantomd/yuengi give landmarks for high angle for armour which u said also work for turtle, if this is the case itll be really easier to do type 2 ss for turtle without any test shots..

for the first thing u ask....the last cross the beams do is what bravador means this has been tested to beath by ramza and is true :D lol

and the second i have to seriously disagree but also add that in low winds ur right it doesnt work on lower angles...anding  above 82 has worke damazingly for me ....but i must say 90 has bee the best angle for me in perfect left to right wind

and i always use 3.5 and 8/10 it works....what u use??????......id like to play with or against u creedo

RancidslayerV2

Wow, Creedo, i can't thank u enough for making this guide (r u too Ramza , i play by mixing both ur strategies  :) ) its awesome, and extremely informative. i would love to play u sometime to see ur skills (and u could definitely teach me a thing or two) if u feel like adding me, my ID is Rancidslayer or i could just add you  :^_^:

hey, a better detailed description of the fork/slug shot (like a screenshot maybe) would be highly appreciated....it confuses me

You are quite welcome...

And about you pdrop and Bravodor, this is a place for exchanging valuable information. I am not telling you how to do your job Bravo, because you are the first person I would elect (and the only) after I quit moderation of the strategy forum.

What pdrop said was both true and false. Type 1 SS is hard, but some stuff he said about slugshot is untrue. According to what I teach people in actual games dedicated to learning such shots, I never gave direct and fixed numbers for slugshots, but instead gave the learner the ability to calculate the best possible angle for that one shot and that one time, and for all the times to come where they would need such a shot.

But of course, there are some angles that seem to work consistently and should be useful to both my guide and creedo's (if he doesn't already have it), and I think that's what pdrop is trying to state.

pdrop's stuff on UHA is very unclear. "as long as u know how to UHA" is a vague statement and I don't exactly get what he means.

As for Type 1 SS, he is right about one thing: it depends on every variable there is at the time. This is the basis of the SS section of my guide that I stress so much, to take in all the variables while performing a Type 1 SS. And he is also right that it is difficult. I try to make that learning process easier in my guide.

the one thing u didnt know at the time was type 2 ss but u were still reseraching and had a basic idea but its been perfected now and is very simple.....also as long as u know how to UHA ...meaning full pow and where ur shots land at what angles...with 2 wind = 1 angle ( roughly ) then 80 is fullcserrn

el6uapo

err.. fullscreen is 79...

i'd like to know at what downwind you need to fullpower the SS... my experience tells me about 6 wind for angle 79, and around 12 wind for angle 89, and interpolate in between...
what really frustrates me is that the UHA SS is often like trico shot 2... you can't hit certain people if you only have a certain angle... you have to move around a bit so that the exact power reduction will make the shot land on their heads.
